On the contrary, I remember a lot of people thinking it was pretty clever.
In the thread here or the one on Acmlm? I mostly was checking the Acmlm one back then.
Nintendo asks you to pay money for SM even today. All I ask is that you read the file so I don't get people asking for help with stupid things that are covered in the readme. Given some of the particularities of Aegis, I know I'll get that if I don't make people check the documentation somehow.
It could be a dick move, but then again, I'm kind of a dick. ;)
Still alive. Music's not tough, just slow. Still need to ask Kej a thing or two about his notes; it sucks having to hassle someone else about this stuff. Why can't I just know everything I need to already? Bleh.
Here's a screenshot of what music editing looks like, if anyone wants to see. You might be able to piece together how it works from the picture.
Hmm, why not? Here's a totally lame patch. Unheadered. Probably not worth the time. Clearly based off Kejardon's "Kraid's Hideout" patch too. Music needs a lot of work, and I've only done the first 8 measures... it's so hard to find instruments that really work.
Full Edit: What header setting is this for? I add a header, it freezes after data selection. Unheadered, it's a load of graphical garbage, like in the cases of Gaius and Cpadolf.
Edit again: Oh, unheadered. And I should have known the post said "totally lame patch". I'll just wait for a better beta version.
Well, it's always good to get a ROM in a WinRar ZIP archive. Reasons why- 1: You always have a last ditch backup file 2: You can always name different files, just so the SRAM file doesn't get fooled by name (problem I had with Redesign)
Edit 3: You always extract a clean copy, given it only doesn't have any unusual symbols ([!] and PRG0 are all right and don't crash)
Hey, about the hack, what would you consider to be the hardest part about it, and the most fun part to make? It's a weird question, but yeah...
Uhm, hardest part so far's been the ASM stuff, really. Music isn't hard, it's just time-consuming... but the timer coding is giving me grief and I'm not sure I can do it at all. Otherwise, everything else is just a test of patience. Making good tilesets is kinda tough too, I guess.
Learning ASM has been pretty fun. Besides that, I guess I enjoyed making the starting area (Glacia). I really dig snowy, icy settings for some reason.
To Black Telomeres:A silly fun hack, hmm, maybe Super Metroid: Cookie Land, made by using tiles from Yoshi's Cookie! I may be crazier than Kejardon, though, at that mere idea.
