You know, I feel like, since I suck at keyboard controls, I feel like playing it on my PlayStation Portable. It may sound crazy, but what do I need to play this on it when it's out?

Funny you ask, one of my beta-testers uses his PSP when playing it. ;)

I'm not on campus right now, and he's my roommate, so I'll have to remember to ask him when I get back in town tomorrow. For the record, though, it runs fine on a PSP (so far). I do know you need to softmod the PSP first. I think that's called Pandora or something? I know nothing beyond that.

Thanks for trying to help. I need something to play on it after playing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. I don't have my hands on it yet, because I couldn't find it at Target. I'll find it at Wal-Mart or something.

Edit: I would doubt it would be Pandora Software.

Talked to my bud. He used a softmod on his battery, and the software's called Pandora. Probably not what you're thinking about. Anyway, you either have to hardmod a spare battery (nothing big, just a little sautering) or you can softmod the battery IF you know someone else who already hardmodded theirs. I think you can also order a pre-modded battery. That's pretty much all I know about that.

Man, though, SNES games look really good on a PSP.

Bad news: I seem to have lost my flash drive.

Good news: I backup to the laptop as well. I haven't actually lost any progress at all.

It was, however, my birthday this weekend, so I took a little break from hacking. I'll be getting back into it this week though.

Well, my battery is 3.6v/1800 mAh. Software Version 3.30. Is that good enough?

Edit: A nastier idea. The Wii Virtual Console. Copy the downloaded file to a SanDisk, use another disk to backup my Wii Console Data in case of crashes, patch the ROM, and feed it to the console. That really only could happen if the file was in .smc format.
Or you could buy a PC controller.

Why didn't I think of that right now? Well, there's always Best Buy to go to [so I can get that one Logitech 8-Button controller I was thinking about back then, but my older brother wouldn't allow it] down the freeway.

Edit: You know, it may be my knack of laziness, so, can is there a place to find a PlayStation 2 Controller USB Adapter?

I don't think that works.

Well, I suppose I'll just get the controller. I'm way too stupid to think up these crazy out-of-the-computer ideas anyway.

Aww, man, I take a break for a week and you guys think I'm flaking out? No worries. I'm going to be working on it later tonight. There's no way I'd stop this far into the project.
Glad to hear that.  I'm probably gonna play this through with no breaks  laugh new

Of course you wouldn't take breaks with this badass hack being so highly anticipated. I'm highly interested in seeing what the mystery area looks like when the hack is finally released.

What, the mystery area being finished? I just hope it's not like what you always expect in Tourian. And another thing, I don't want to read the line that might say: "You'll see. Yes, you'll see."

Sorry, I know it's been a little while since I updated. I haven't made any new rooms in a while.

But there's a good reason for it. After a few days of staring at code, and constantly rereading Kejardon's notes, I've managed to ensure I'll be able to include a much-wanted extra feature for this hack. Aegis will have custom music.

Almost happy

It took me a little while to make sense of it, but no, it's not too hard, only took me a couple days with Kejardon's excellent notes on the matter. There's still one or two things I don't understand, but someone like Kejardon can probably clear it up in seconds. Basically all I need to do now is find good music to use, figure out what notes are being played for different parts (I wish I had a software or something for this!) and find an instrument that works for playing it in SM's engine. I was going to write music myself but I'd be such a perfectionist about it that you'd all be waiting another year for Aegis if I did that. :P

If anyone knows good resources for appropriate mood music or software to transcribe audio into music notes (Ab,A,Bb...F,Gb,G,Ab...) that would really really help. Otherwise I'll plug away at it myself.

Anvil studio is a good software. It is for midi but that makes sense since it is the closest thing to a SPC so it should be the best to go on if you ask me.
Or you could try and find a good SPC program that shows notes. That way you can just rip out SPC's from a snes game.

Well, I hope you can pull this off. For the notes, I hope there's a program in which you can put it in sheet music format. Kejardon's notes are the best when it comes to music coding, and I would doubt that SMILE 1.32 would have a music editor. I just hope that the future 1.4 or something like that would do that.

I downloaded Anvil and I'm able to see midi notes transcribed, which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks a bunch! Gonna be busy at this for a while.
You're even adding new music to the game?  (or rather, replacing old music?)

Wow, I can't wait for this hack.  Please refrain from getting hit by cars or any other type of serious injury.
