yeah, I always thought Adam's suicide mission was completely pointless. His goal was to destroy the metroids and the MB... then later it turns out that the MB wasn't even there and there's more metroids in the rest of the ship, so it was all for nothing.
I guess the writers' justification is the sector zero metroids were the ones that couldn't be frozen and the queen wasn't part of that batch, so her offspring weren't invulnerable to cold either <_< But it's still rather pointless seeing how the Federation could easily take more metroid DNA out of the bioweapons lab and just genetically engineer them again.
Also the whole thing about Adam being able to freeze the one metroid because it was still an infant... it seems kinda like they already wrote out the whole scene then someone realized that it doesn't make sense because Adam just froze a metroid then said they can't be frozen, so they decided to point it out in the cutscene so they could go back and try to explain it.
really whatever way you look at it the story is a mess lol.
