yeah, I always thought Adam's suicide mission was completely pointless. His goal was to destroy the metroids and the MB... then later it turns out that the MB wasn't even there and there's more metroids in the rest of the ship, so it was all for nothing.

I guess the writers' justification is the sector zero metroids were the ones that couldn't be frozen and the queen wasn't part of that batch, so her offspring weren't invulnerable to cold either <_< But it's still rather pointless seeing how the Federation could easily take more metroid DNA out of the bioweapons lab and just genetically engineer them again.

Also the whole thing about Adam being able to freeze the one metroid because it was still an infant... it seems kinda like they already wrote out the whole scene then someone realized that it doesn't make sense because Adam just froze a metroid then said they can't be frozen, so they decided to point it out in the cutscene so they could go back and try to explain it.

really whatever way you look at it the story is a mess lol.

any Trek fan knows that admirals are always evil.

Either that or they're doomed to be demoted to a more adventuresome and heroic rank.

there's something else i'm wondering about Metroid offsprings:
does the queen need to lay eggs to produce more or do them come out of her like in the battle? or are those metroids already born and just stored inside the queen?

I think they made the sacrifice pointless on purpose, because if you remember fusion, computer adam calls adam's sacrifice "foolish".

So even adam thought it made no sense after the fact.

I've given up on figuring out where metroids come from. They can and will appear whenever they need to get in Samus' way.

the sector zero suicide mission was very strange, you just need to cause some explosions?

open the first 2 doors, samus shoot 1 or 2 super missiles, and it's done, no one even NEEDs to enter the damn place...

and MB was not even there... it's was very fail...
Well, the real reason probably was that they ran out of time and couldn't finish a playable version Sector Zero where Adam would've heroically sacrificed himself to save Samus when she finds out mother brain is alive too and has an emotional breakdown as a result of that... (or well, even if it didn't involve that, it'd still involve yet another situation where Samus suddenly needs to be rescued unlike in every other game) so instead they just made him stun Samus in a single magical shot and embark on a pointless suicide mission that wouldn't have been a suicide mission had Samus done it.

Interesting point, but that's not really how he means it.  He goes on to basically say "See, he was stupid to save YOU when you're about to go die for no reason."  Ironic, eh?
That has always been my interpretation of the Adam reveal scene in Fusion. Samus going off and dying for no reason would take out the only thing that could save the galaxy from the X, and computer Adam is telling Samus that real Adam's sacrifice, if she is to do this, was pointless.

now that Samus attitude is brought up...

man, she's a suicide-craving bitch. i guess her emotions got the best of her by the end of the series if she was about to do the same solution to save the universe 2 times in a row. funny how 2 Adams stop her.
it would be interesting if Metroid 5 ends with her going suicidal again and actually accomplishing it (it would also put an end to teh series)

nintendo don't kill their characters, not even link die.... and he is the only one that would change nothing (as every game is a diferent link)

if most of the games it is a different Link, it means the other ones died of old age. none of the other series get that treatment so technically he's the only one who dies.
Majora's Mask. Link never makes it back to Hyrule, so to the Hylians, he is as good as dead.

'ave it!

why do we need to rationalize all nintendo games? -_-

whatever, i still think adan is not stupid enough to do that in sector zero, in fact, i think the last maru mari episode is true, except for the beers and the stripper...
With Zelda, we'll take any rational answers we can get.

Anyone notice that Anthony's name tag says James on it?

When?
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
All the troops suits say James, because the only time you can actually read it is on James.
