ice beam is in the same room that you got the wave beam ( wrecked ship),  xray is at the landing site (you need speed booster),  screw attack is in lower norfair (ridleys lair).  theres more than one way to get into ridleys lair.  you can either go right at the bottom of the blue shaft, or you can get there by going all the way through maridia.

Wow how did you miss him?  I guess I didnt realize you could skip him. 

From the landing site: 

Go down the first long shaft, and then go right.  Fall down the next long shaft and then go left.  When you're in the pink area that has the two green hoppers (the ones that stick to you) shoot through the floor to go down.  It's obvious where to go from there.

OHHH I see what's happening here.  You're using the old fixed version of SFI, the one that I "fixed" a long time ago.  Because of a glitch, I had to send the player around Kraid so you'd never actually end up fighting him.  Just go onwards towards Tourian but when you get into it, go to the save room, savee your game and reset it because it'll fix the tiles that glitched up upon entry.

There's no save room in Tourian, and when i exit the Giant Metroid room, the game freezes

wow sounds like you need a new patch.  somethings wrong with yours for sure.

Uhm.

Should I be using the patch FP attached in his first post in this thread? Or should I be using a different patch.. o.O

Anyways, I went left at the bottom of OTES into WS, got grapple, and found some varialess fun.. with some slowdown and extreme savestate abuse, I managed to find some supers and a pb pack, and now I just found crocomire. It seems you can get him completely stuck by using a missle when he first opens his mouth.. =\

You shouldn't.  There was an newer patch made by someone else that fixed all the glitches, including the ones I couldn't fix myself.  I believe the newest patch is listed in EP's hack list.

Is this the patch that fixes everything and is the newest listed in EP's hack list?? (the one being referred here, that is):

Super+Metroid+SFI+Fixed.IPS

If so, I'm up to date and only a matter of time before I play it, even through that one room that likes to freeze the game when I reach it, using a previous version....  grin new

I think that this topic should be renamed to the sfi help thread because gaius's help thread links to this.
that door is a fake. you can check in smile that the metal door is made of solid blocks.
