i see. i'm reloading the room and got it once but then fell too far below the room and had to reset (i can't do consecutive aether jumps to save my ass lol)

o_O Just float up then.

i've noticed that there's one thing i can't get to repeat like in the vid and that is getting the HUD to vanish when the ball's shell disappears. in miles' vid, the health and bomb icons vanish when he gets IS but on my attempts, it doesn't do that.

I don't think I've ever had it not happen...

hey guys, just wanted to say that I did this successfully twice in a row by reloading the room first.  will try some more to make sure this is truely consistent.

How are you boosting? Is it two like my video, or just one into a crate, or what?
Just got a :02 first save, yay. Of course, no actual speedruns would save there, but still... Should give an indication of how fast this can be done.

FUUUUUUCK YEAH! i finally managed the glitch a second time and saved the file. this time i didn't fall down so i could wallcrawl to the save station in a decent time. i got 5 mins but that's not bad considering i was boosting around for a while and that was the very first time i wallcrawled that sector beyond the room with the pit.

now i'll copy this save to other memory cards to mess around.
Quote from Master ZED:
As I recall (though it's been years since I've messed with the game last, so this may be very inaccurate), the reason this never worked in the past was because by the time you got to the IS-capable door, Hive Access Tunnel would be unloaded and it wouldn't come back in any form while you were on the ground.  At least, I never got it to come back without moonjump.  Or maybe I was deaf when listening to the 'cube for loading sounds, I dunno.  At that point, we were stuck and I eventually stopped caring, which was obviously a foolish move.  I need to pull out the 'cube first before I even think of messing with this, but it looks like my poor Echoes disc is going to receive a brand new dose of torment. :D

All I've really come here to do for right now is say congratulations to doninss for finding that most sought-after of theoretically possible sequence breaks through the unreachable warp zone in the Hive Access Tunnel. :)

I do have a question for ya (or anyone else that's messed with HAT's shaft recently), now that I'm thinking about it: if you go in with moonjump from the room below and not dropping in it from HAT proper, will the event trigger in the shaft only send you outside the second time you moonjump into it?  I seem to recall that it does, and now that IS seems capable of sending Samus outside on the first try, I have to wonder if there are actually two event triggers in that drop.

This doesn't really matter as to how to get the warp to work at all, I'm just speculating on why the warp zone is there in the first place.

Amazing. This is why I'd hoped you'd stop by. :) Your perspective on Echoes glitches (I use the term in a very broad sense) is unique.

I fired up moonjump and loaded the later save. Started at the save-point just past lose your stuff (I hadn't just lost it though) and moonjumped up the shaft. Music trigger first, then the cut-scene trigger, then back in HCA. Second time up, SW. Then I got back in (think I ended up falling into erroneous? HCA) and a bunch of strange happenings (I wasn't paying attention to when, where, how,). I do remember loading LS, and dropping down the shaft, but no trigger.

Right now I'm in the SW having triggered the cutscene from the SW after loading a save at the ship and SAing into the SW at a nearby tunnel. Screen is black, map says HAT is loaded, but I'm right next to it and can't see a thing. Definitely some fun to be had poking around here. (In your case Master ZED, maybe even some more insight to be had. ;)

Sorry for DP, but did you do anything special?

i was pretty much copying what miles did in his vid. it was just luck that it didn't crash since sometimes it would crash before the very first boost i used and other times it would let me boost a few times before crashing.

Just checked to see if it was possible to get Hive Chamber B's missile without triggering the item loss, and it turns out it doesn't exist at all. So yeah, there's no chance of doing this in 100%.

Edit: Also I've done it three times since that video, two of them being just like it and one of them boosting around 4 times before it triggered.
Did you boost from a standstill?
not evil,just hungry
video of some successful attempts
I'm still not sure if reloading the room and/or wedging yourself next to a crate is necessary.  Hitting a crate does prevent you from hitting other things, like walls.  I guess I'm trying to say such a setup may be useful, but not required.

Doing something to make the controller rumble seems to result in a crash.  This includes boosting into a wall, boosting into a bump on the floor, or hitting a crate towards the end of a boost.  And other times the game crashes just because it can.

Position and boost direction do not seem to matter for triggering the glitch, although I think you need to head down to the tunnel to get HAT to load.  This leaves us with the camera position and crate smashing as other possible triggers.  Given the other effects of flickerball, I'm leaning towards the camera.  I suspect a reliable setup exists, but I don't have a good guess as to what it is.

On a side note, I had one interesting (and sadly unrecorded) instance when trying this.  I boosted and was warped to the bottom of the tunnel instead of to the HAT sw.  This also triggered a light show style glitch except the screen was entirely white.  It was canceled when I hit the map station like a normal light show would.

Can't you just get the original missile expansion twice?

For fake 100%, sure.

does sda not allow that?

No, it doesn't.

well that's lame. should get a rule change.
No, it shouldn't.

sda's definition is you're allowed to get the missile launcher twice, but they won't count it as 100% unless you actually collect every item. it's fair and it makes sense imo, they shouldn't change it.

otherwise you get things like in OoT where you can collect the same gold skulltula over and over until you have 100 or however many it was... it's pretty much the same thing here.
yeah that actually makes sense to me. it's certainly not something like secret worlds or whatever.
red chamber dream
lol. i was just making fun of sda.

you could say those extra missiles from the start that you keep cover for that missing expansion...

but yeah, the rules are fine as they are currently.

Item Percentage: 99

Um...

crap. i totally forgot about them not counting.

i haven't adjusted to this new glitch's effects yet.
Quote from UchihaSasuke:

Um, what? Then you could say the extra missiles you get from the extra missile launcher cover for a missing expansion. >_>
You would also have the fun of collecting all the items you already have.

lol no way
Hey so if I'm in the SW state, after floating up above the Hive Access Tunnel (like 30 minutes >_>), is there a video I could be directed to to guide me forward?
Edit: I'm dumb. I just youtube'd for it and it was like the very first result.
