hm, does the scan point that activates the elevator warp you in-bounds? i didn't try it because i wanted to get as fast as possible to the save station and did regular wallcrawling.
I've been so busy whining about Other M that I didn't seem to notice wtf was happening in this thread. Someone on the other forum mentioned that MP2 just got the biggest sequence break ever, and I was like whaaaa??? This is HUGE.
Oh fuuh. I keep trying to do that little jump between the boundaries of the two rooms, to climb on top of the door like you did... the only times I've made it on top of the door the next room only loads if I jump, and if I do get on top of the next room none of the doors would respond either to my beam or being near them to open the next room, and when I fell down near the elevator I was unable to scan the thing. It was like the image of the room had loaded but nothing was interactive; I climbed up the sticky sides of the elevator shaft to get back on top of the room and fell into it and nothing was changed, it was all just static images of the doors and elevator scan thing. Weird!
I just got it like 30 seconds ago, hell yeah dudes. I had to learn how to aether jump, and I've gotten really comfortable moving around in at least that SW. Seriously a strange sense of freedom floating high above the landing/crash site, also the same when I dropped into Industrial site (because I couldn't figure out how to glitch through the cieling, I just fell to the ground and aether jumped to the top). Okay having saved it took me...: haha 0:10, but that's still one of the cooler saves I have on any of my files. And holy shit! After you take that elevator down to the save room, all the dark troopers just stand around like creepy zombies until... maybe you fire a shot? Or load the save room or something? I almost died getting into it when all of them started hitting me at once - seriously, I entered the save with 30some energy. And upon loading the boxes were mostly still there... and there was a corpse on top of the red one just hangin, waiting for me. I'm stoked on this if that's not apparent.
If anyone's having trouble, I've uploaded a new video to YouTube with annotations describing how to do it:
It'd be nice if anyone can suggest things to change as well.
Also, at this point, I really really really think the first post should be taken away from Omega-Alpha (or just split off period at doninss's first post) (edit: splitting it would be the better option, though I didn't think of it until I was actually writing this post). Having the thread for the by far biggest break in the game start off with an idiot liar describing a method that had no chance in hell of working is pretty stupid, in my opinion. :\
I have to admit I was skeptical of Omega-Alpha's claim, but I am sitting in the SW outside Hive Access Tunnel on my cube right now. :) I warped out using mmg. :P Spun up at the closest door frame. I tried it first with Dolphin a couple times (partly to see if it would emulate IS). It worked. I couldn't get it to work on the cube though (it would just reset). I turned off HUD lag and lowered visor visibility in what I thought would be a vain attempt, but it worked on the cube. I don't know that's what did it, needs more testing.
I have have no way of easily capturing from the cube (ATI driver hell, or perhaps the old AIW don't capture no more. Here's a vid of the Dolphin version though: http://www.genericgamer.com/MP2/Grail.mp4 I cut out a lot of black screen, and the cut-scene.
On the cube I made sure I was looking down on the ball after morphing for spin-up, but I don't think it matters (that how it had been on the emulator though). I freed myself and rolled to underneath the shaft, aimed at a crate and let a partial boost fly. Screen went black (but not instantly) and the music changed instead of disappearing. From that point it played out just like moonjump. I used this vid to remember how to set up mmg at thst door.
Yay?
Edit: Yeah, I was using a late game save, so... Like I said, more testing needed.
Does this work on the trilogy version, and how hard is this to pull off?
Well I just did it today, and I've got to say that keeping the game from crashing imo is pretty much luck based, but the reward for all the trouble is worth it (especially the fact that I can now skip a lot of the bosses, but I like triggering them just for fun)
Which reminds me when you trigger the Bomb Guardian fight bomb the wall, and go to the controller access to bomb the slot I got a black screen, and then ended up in a secret world with invisible walls just like the controller access room.
Just got it first try. It's so ridiculously easy following the video. btw the missile expansion in GMFC compound (above the ship) isn't there. What's the trigger for it to appear ?

hitting the cutscene that makes the translator door appear, iirc
lol, i was messing around trying to trigger the amber translator and i had some fun with the bomb guardian
- a PB hills him in 1 hit - a Super Missile also kills him in 1 hit when he's vulnerable - killing him but leaving without picking up the bombs lets you fight him again after reloading the room (i did both kills without resetting because of this)

Well, yeah, it has 80 health and a Super does 90. >_>
The other day I found out that it's possible to skip the avoiding the item loss cutscene; you just have to press start immediately after you trigger it. Pointless, though, since cutscenes don't count. (and it seemed to take longer to float up high enough to Aether Jump; I've only skipped it twice, though, so maybe I was just imagining it)
