Updated the script to v1.4:

Added in the seed number to the description, like Laraeph had suggested in the Echoes Randomizer thread. I edited my post before with some pictures. You can still use the normal banner, but for this choose to use the custom banner after dumping the ISO
You will need to dump the ISO once to set things up with the custom title maker in the new version of the script, but once you have, you're good to go!

Miles, I have a question about selecting the "seed". My idea of what that feature would be is that there are, say... 'X' amounts of possible combinations of items in the game. The seed would then be which of the 'X' combinations that particular sequence was. However, I'm now seeing that the seed is affected by what the exceptions are, too.

Let's have a fictional exchange here.

Person A keeps only Space Jump Boots constant when they randomize things. So, their command is "Prime_Randomizer -f (folder) -e 59"
Person A ends up getting a fun seed, so they post about it. The seed is 129558931.

My question to you is: is it possible for the "seed" to be the precise item list that that particular randomization generated, out of the full list of all possible item lists? That would eliminate this issue. Just wondering if that's even feasible.

As you can see, it's completely different. That's because Person B did not use the same exception rule as Person A.

My question to you is: is it possible for the "seed" to be the precise item list that that particular randomization generated, out of the full list of all possible item lists? That would eliminate this issue. Just wondering if that's even feasible.

edit: Script v1.5 adds a little description on how to put in the correct exception setting when creating a custom seed

yeah, i think what parax said would be the "easiest" way to implement that, but it certainly wouldn't be fun to do. another problem is that the number of possible randomizers (even accounting for missiles swapping with missiles, etc.) is a very very high number, so it wouldn't be feasible to assign a number for each possible outcome.

You cannot IS that item (so whether or not you have boost is irrelevant) and you cannot get in there without supers as far as we know. Miles tried for a while when Plasma was in there once.

Did Geo without boost in about 3 minutes after not having done it for years, the first good r jump got the stall. what an amazing luck. It gave me a missle expansion as per usual deal in this seed...

It is very tempting but please don't let me get back into speedrunning. This recreational playing with the randomizer is such an awesome way to play this game again and again. I am looking into streaming now but I'm afraid it can't be done through smart tv alone. I guess I always need a computer which I don't have at the moment.

I think its over for this one. You get Spider Ball -> Ice Beam -> Wave Beam -> Plasma Beam -> Power Bombs -> Space Jump pretty early on in the game and thats a big garuantee of finishing a randomizer. From that point on its a missle expansion energy tank festifal. Then with Supers at the top of Phendrana Shorlines and an artifact in research lab hydra makes it impossible. Unless that can be gotten with Infinite Speed.

edit: in addition omega pirate is holding main power bombs which i need for the artifact from phazon elite and x-ray is in the tree of main plaza. Very funny, Randomizer Not talking

forget that comment, I remember now that you have to beat the invisible drone to be able to open the phazon elite cage.

I didn't know about that. Of course, with the occasional Metroid Prime it is basically the same as what I thought (getting the Main Power Bomb upgrade). But with Randomizer, this is a different story.

Hint: Look at Wave Beam, Ice Beam, and suits.
I ended up wallcrawling to thardus, going back and wallcrawling to far phendrana to get gravity suit, wallcrawl back out, and wallcrawl past ice door at FCS to get to GTH, where I gave up after 30 mins of failing the Great Tree Chamber SW.
Looking at logs after that theres nothing I can see that says its unbeatable.

isn't boost ball enough to get through the crashed frigate? You can boost down the morph ball tunnels in that last room. Then you don't need gravity suit.
