Holy moly! It seems I have terribly underestimated the power of arm pumping and other tools that can be used. Simply amazing, Saturn!
I do have my doubts that it will be done in realtime, but there is a challence for someone ( at least not me, I usually have under a second left in the clock with my escape :) )
Anywhere, everywhere
The room after botwoon is cruel. ;(

The room DURING that fight is cruel.

...also, dot dot dot at the mere mention of saving the animals, then a grand drooling after mentioning the time left on the clock.
Ok, maybe I'm being retarded, or I am still brain dead from the week that was, but I simply cannot find my way out of the room after the WS and right before the elevator to Maridia.

I have tried bombing seemingly everywhere, but I'm not finding anywhere that I can actually get through... a couple places seemed promising, but they were always dead ends.

I read through this entire monster of a thread, but for some reason the hints that were given for this room didn't help me find it. Any other suggestions?  :x
Waaaaaaa i want insanity

There's something I didn't think about before this room, and it has opened so many more options for treasure hunting. I had no idea there had been more past the edge.

Basically, you just need to bomb and push against every square you can think of possibly being a secret passage.
Hi...

I hope that you could help me...

I'm playing this hack for a long time now...

I'm @ 98%, just Missing an E-tank and the X-ray...

I see that many of you have collected all Tanks, and I searched the whole Game, but don't find the missing Tank.

The Problem is that I don't know which tanks i have collected until now...

I can say for Sure that i Have collected:

1 The Tank before Suitless Norfair (after Kraid)
2 The Tank before Suitless Norfair (Hi Jump)
3 The Tank before Suitless Norfair (Hi Jump)
4 Original X-Ray Room
5 Gauntlet
6 Wrecked Ship
7 Lower Norfair, Golden Torizos Room
8 Lower Norfair, the Room with no Heat
9 Etecoon Tank
10 Crocomire
11 The Room in Pink Brinstar with the Wave-Beam Gate
12 Charge Beam (but I'm not sure if there was a Tank)
13 Lower Norfair after Golden Torizo (but dunno if there was a Tank, too)

I hope you can help me...
Wow. I was very close to the passage about 50 times but for some reason I was never making it into the passage once I had bombed the block... I was suspicious of that area but it seemed like there wasn't anything else there... Ah well, Thanks for narrowing it down enough for me to only lose a bit more of my sanity. :)

Lower Norfair has no e-tank after GT, only super missile pack and energy recharge point. So you are missing two tanks from your list.

The other is in the old wave beam room, the door opens only after Ridley. (version 1.5, otherwise it is in Blue Brinstar)

The other.... how about Maridia and the upper area after death mountain? No, you should have that since you would also have to miss the missile packs there... Nothing else comes to mind right now. Hope this helps.
Ok, I got that Tank in the old Wave-Beam Room, than this was Nr. 13 for me...

Than I need to look @ Maridia, but it would be strange if there is the Missing Tank. Oo

A great rule of thumb for getting 99% is that if a room contains items in the original, it will contain exactly that many in Impossible. (NOTE: this doesn't mean it'll be the same type of item) The sole exception to this rule is the turtle room, which only contains the ice beam, while in the original it had an energy tank and a missile pack. I personally suspect that this room is the resting place of the xray, but no amount of searching/testing has yielded anything.

Heh, wow, I kinda changed topic halfway through. My bad.
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
That's the sole exception? I just got an extra missile tank in the Charge Beam room tonight. Is that the replacement for a tank above? I thought there had still been one there.
I'n the Room left from the Wrecked Ship are in the Original Metroid 3 Missiles, in Impossible only 2 and a Chozo Statue...
That's an Exception, too...

BTW: I have Searched all 14 E-Tank-Locations, but didn't found one.

Could it be possible that there is an Error, if you play this game, until Maridia, and then Patch it... That some Items than Dissapear?

Or, I'm just Missing an other E-Tank, but for that I need to know if there is an EnergyTank in the Original Charge-Beam Room or in the Room Under it... I already wrote that I'm not sure if trhere is an Tank, but get no answer...
This is the only hack I've ever completed, I want Super Metroid Impossible 2.

Just thought I'd share that thought with you.  Rolling Eyes
NecroWeapon: If I've read your list right, you haven't found the E-Tank in Blue Brinstar.  Remember where it was in the original game?  It was two rooms to the right of where you got the morph ball.  The E-tank got moved to another location in that same room.  I'll put the exact location in spoiler tags just on the chance you want to find it yourself.

From the top of the narrow passage, but before bombing the block in your way, count down about 10-11 blocks.  On your right, if you bomb the correct block, it reveals itself as a Super Missile Block.  Use a S.Missile to clear it out of the way, then get yourself into the hole where the S.Missile block used to be and use a M.Ball bomb.  That should reveal the E-Tank.

Hope that helps :).

Now then, reading over old posts, I downloaded Lance's 2:21 speedrun.  Going to have to check this out later.

It also happened to spark something in me to get off my rear and take out GT.  I only had a maximum of 25 Supers this time around compared to a max of 30 Supers from the video I posted way back when detailing a brutal ownage of it  laugh new

Took me maybe 5-10 minutes of attempts until I scored a victory against it today.  It was NOT easy at all.  Having to get S.Missile refills + GT being a Kraid sometimes by using the energy slicers attack or the item refills giving me no Supers= Me in flickerbatting nutso mode  grin new !

...And yet I was insane enough to do something after making it to the energy refill station and savestating in another slot.

Figured that I'd do a new GT fight on the current version of the hack.  My old GT fight was recorded on the 1.3 version of the hack.  With 5 less Supers, I actually had to...gulp, pray for refills.

GT predicted this and was doing everything I DIDN'T want it to do :P.  After half an hour, I got a fight recorded.  Might as well share it with everyone.

Takes about twice as long as the previous GT video of mine.  That one lasts ~17 seconds.  This one is nearly twice as long, clocking in at 33 seconds.

I did have one glaring mistake occur during the fight.  Kinda embarrassing, but I'm not going for absolute perfection.  However, feel free to say I cut it close at the end.  You'll see  grin new .

EDIT:  It'd help if I said what I recorded it with right  laugh new ?  I used Snes9x v1.43-win32-2.  That was the name of zipfile that this version of Snes9x was called.

...I didn't even have problems on gold torizo. I cheesed him. O_o No damage threatened, but it required pixel perfection. Not frame perfection, though.

Okay guys, I need help stutter-running for the maridia super tank. I didn't even imagine it could be done in this short a space, as I've never actually seen it. Any pointers? Any good descriptions and guides?
Use frame-by-frame.  Earlier Saturn said that that tank required a near-perfect charge, and that he expected people to use frame-by-frame to get it.
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
-_- that doesn't help. I still don't fully understand the strutter-run. I haven't found any functions other than half-speed (and triple speed and recording/playback). I'm supposed to run for four frames, release for one frame, and repeat, I'm told. Is that fifth frame absolutely the only time I could possibly be releasing the direction?
I think you it 3-3-3-4-7? 3 frames forward, 1 not, 3 ->, 1 not, 3 ->, 1 not, 4 ->, 1 not, 7 ->, 1 not and all the rest forward? And if I recall correct the 4 frames were 25, 50, 75 and 85.

Please feel free to correct me if something I said isn't true. I think there might be even better way to strutter walk, no?
Almost happy
No it's 25 50 70 85.

Anyway to explain it as clearly as possible, hold forward (no dash of course) for 3 frames, the release for 1, repeat this acording to the 3-3-3-4-7 method, after holding forward for 7 frames in the last step release forward for 1 frame then press forward dash for 1 frame. Then keep holding forward for 24 more frames then forward dash, then 24 more frames and forward dash, then 19 more and forward dash, then 14 more and forward dash, On the last frame (85) you can either begin to hold dash and run  or you can press down on the same frame you press dash, which will get you a shinecharge.

Okay I don't care that's dumb. I'm gonna go for 98% then...can I?

Also,
SM has a PB column right behind the early PBs in Red Brinstar. There is another item behind this pillar. I don't recall grabbing another item in this room. As far as I can tell, I've grappled and bombed every block, including those inside the plants and thorns. I don't need to do something lame like get in there from outside the room, do I? Did I simply miss a grapple block in the roof or something?

You are not missing a grapple block in the roof, it is exactly the opposite. It is a very clever way to hide a passage. Here is a little hint spoiler tagged in case you want to continue searching with just the first tip. Hope this will do, since telling the whole thing would ruin a wonderful experience.

I checked the plants, multiple times. I'm gonna check again.... *sigh*

EDIT: Found it. -_-
I decided to upload my 2:21 playthrough to youtube, since there is no sign anything better will emerge for a while.

Here is part 1/19, I will upload all of them eventually

Feel free to comment or tell me if I forgot something that is worth mentioning in the description or if I have written false information.

It is my very first experience editing video, so dont bother pointing out mistakes in that sense  :D

I edited intro, elevators and other useless scenes away because I feel like they add nothing to the vid. Everyone who knows about this hack is bound to know about the original SM and all the scenes there  :)

I'd like to watch, but I haven't played this hack yet.  I feel I'm not ready.  Embarassed

But will there be spoilers for us who haven't played it yet?

(I'm thinking 'yes'. :P )
