I never looked it up because I never thought about it. The 100% scene just popped in my head.
Opium -- you sound angry over it - yes?

Are any of you game developers (and at a senior level)? If so, make a pitch...

ANKOKU
Yes I'm a game dev, and "senior level" within the company, but we've tried making sequels of established series. It's a BITCH to get name rights alone.

Though I do have a metroid-y game I do plan to pitch. I just can't call it Metroid.
I give a nod in acknowledgment of the nods in the game.  Now how do I stop giving the bird to the rest ofit.
sabata2 -- I don't know the background of how Retro teamed up with Nintendo for MP - but they did it and the rest is history. Does your company talk to the 3 big console companies... that was my thought in saying "make a pitch". My suspicion is that making a connection is not that simple.

Opium -- too bad you can't write up a detailed essay on what you think the next Metroid should be and have the forum read it and make comments and send it off to the main folks running this forum so they could officially send it to Nintendo. Realistically even if this were possible, the sheer number of opinions would weigh the essay down to the point where nothing would happen.

More than once I have described what I thought my perfect metroid game would be. Call me a pessimist, but I really don't think anyone cares what I think.
It depends on what you think.

Unfortunately I have to agree but I don't mean this in a mean spirited way. I spent much time designing electrical controls for nuclear plants and almost always no one cares what I think. I'm not sure why; it just is.
I think most people just have their minds made up about things and only pretend to listen, either because they are genuinely uninterested in what you think or they are actually incapable of listening, period.
I also think that a tragically high number of people simply don't possess the intellect needed to step into your shoes for a moment just to attempt to get a grasp of your viewpoint.  Sadly, this goes beyond impairing the simple sharing of ideas and goes into people's ability to have compassion for one another.

I'm pretty much convinced that Opium would make the greatest Metroid game ever if allowed. Serious post.

rundas...

Don't dare start me on that overglorified...
Hey Mario,

Since you phrase it that way, I have to ask... what's the issue with Rundas? Instead of being the Silver Surfer superhero he is the Ice Surfer...
Its because he is stuck-up, sucks up to Samus and the Federation, and is a total fake.
yeah and he paid for it in the way he dies -- that was one of the highlights of MP3.
Thank you. Somebody understands me. ^_^

I didn't notice that Rundas had enough of a personality to be mad about. None of the other dudes really.
I am just mad that he is so overglorified.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Is he? The only praise I've heard for him was for his boss music.

Where have you been?

"I hope I die like Rundas did, he was so badass"

EDIT: Actual Quotes:

"What a great piece! It mixes a little bit of dark tones with fractions of his old theme, an added spice of honorable drum notes makes it legendary. Rhundas was the only boss in any video game that I actually felt bad about killing.

Why Rhundas? Why?"

"Why Rundas? He was so cool! literally!"

"Oh my god...i had tears in my eyes when battlin rundas.

Just say me, if you felt the same way."
Rundas was probably my second favourite of the hunters, but I don't see why so many people would like him. He had almost no personality (like the other hunters), but he always seemed like he was supposed to be pretty cool. I don't know, but I still think the way he died was awesome (not really badass though, just cool to watch). He does pick you up from the generator shaft in the beginning of the game, so I'll give him that much.

But man, playing as Rundas seems like it would be fun, considering he pretty much flies around on a chunk of ice.

As for the other hunters, Ghor was my favourite. Not because of his personality, but just cause he had a pretty cool suit (not speaking for the boss fight, though). I never liked Gandrayda, but the boss fight was pretty fun to play through.
Gandrayda is the Metroid equivilant of Green/Blue from Pokemon.

I don't pay attention Metroid related sites that are not this one. And honestly my ability to care about Metroid games besides Prime is very limited so a lot of Prime 3 stuff kind of passed me by.

I imagine he gets the most love just by virtue of being in the game for more than 30 seconds outside of his boss fight. I mean he didn't do much, but he only had to do more than the other two, which he certainly succeeded in. That said there many bosses I felt much worse about killing, not that it would take much, so those people are pretty big babies.

I realized that thirty seconds after I said it.

EDIT: BTW: those comments were from Youtube.
