rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
yeah I was thinking that may have a chance at working, it's possible with floaty to just kind of ram into the slope of the track and bounce up. Furnace seems pretty hopeless, it's kind of encased in two layers of collision and floating in the air so getting it during the wallcrawl is not happening. Underwater Frigate can be collected from out of bounds if you're in a position similar to the early PB but touching the item with your feet instead of the tip of samus' head (though it might load too fast to get in this position?). As long as that sounds it'd take, it could end up that wallcrawling Live Grove Tunnel is actually faster for all I know.
Without boost I wouldn't be surprised at all that it's faster to wall crawl LGT.

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
This is possible but I'm a fucking idiot and saved over my playback state so I can't make a video of it actually working without TASing it again. The time I got it I bounced off the left wall before rolling off the edge to have more sideways momentum to get an earlier instant unmorph.

Idea crossed my mind while watching the LOTAD, that elevator takes ages lol

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
It's faster on every opening door to stand back and walk through it at full speed instead of rubbing against it until it opens. It's fairly minor time save compared to how much you save doing that while rolling, but it adds up if you do it everywhere.

This just in, bombs are useless in a TAS

Quote:
this is horribly unoptimized, my jumps overshot the required heights on pretty much every ledge, and I also believe it's possible to jump straight into the corner beside the spider track from the boost SSJ, instead of landing on that other ledge first.

Edit: took out that second BSJ dash thing, the collision here and dash angle makes it really hard to not just hit your head and lose all your speed, I did hit my head and lose height, but still managed to land on a lower ledge and jump up (there's potential that could be avoided?).

I might as well work on this just so I have comparisons for routing/timing things.

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
had to recreate that horrible BSJ strat for early Wild so I made a video of it this time
Low Optimized 100% TAS aside from what Andy did. 0:00-8:22 & 1:15:50-1:16:04

Wait you can append inputs to a TAS like that?
TASes are essentially a series of logged inputs so yes.

Sweet, what's your in-game time at this point?
Thank you for explaining TAS to me MG, but I was referring to 'adding inputs from a completely separate playthrough onto a totally different play through after it has already began' because I did not know that was possible at all.

Great video chaster.

The thing is that as long as you're starting from the same sram there isn't really a distinction between two playthroughs. Generally speaking: Taking the beginning of a TAS and truncating the rest is relatively simple. Changing the beginning or middle of a TAS is rather tricky and requires care to make sure there aren't desyncs.

I'm not sure how it would work with dolphin but yeah.

Yeah that's what I was talking about, adding your own actual input to the end of a 'set' TAS is straightforward but something like what Ed did is a lot more complicated and I've never actually seen it done before so that's interesting. Very cool too
It's usually not too hard to copy inputs if you have a set starting position and there are no rng elements or lag variations.

What are either of you talking about? Edzan just sent me his dtm and I did a section for him and set it back. Hexing is possible but my original elevator skip inputs were suboptimal anyway so I don't know why I'd go through the effort to send him something slow.
I was just explaining it in general, I didn't know any of the specifics to this tas
