Quote: But I think about starting a HARD mode right now.
good luck.
also you can add the two 21% hard times:
6:34 T3 16:13 MilesSMB
In Miles's proof videos of the 1st 21% HARD mode playthrough I see he's got 16:29 after the credits. Now: It's not possible to get the last segment in 16 minutes. In 21% i.e. Phazon Core. In HARD mode i.e. Metroid Prime has got double health. Just saying it can't be true that Miles finished that particular walkthrough with the time T3 mentioned.
Btw; can you also update my 21% HARD mode 8:49 (the one I uploaded)? Thanks.
Oh that explains everything! I was being stupid, excuse me. But why would one commit himself to such a crime (i.e. redoing such a nightmare segment just to cut off 16 minutes) when the final time will still be over 16 hours and could have "easily" been 10 hours lower if it was planned to be a speedrun from the 1st segment on?! But it's Miles
I didn't redo it to complete it faster. I redid it just for the sake of beating Prime again (and happened to climb Phazon Core 16 minutes sooner I guess).
23% SS 1:37 (5 minute improvement). I used the standard 23%/ 22% route, i.e. no route change in order to bypass the 3 Wavebeam Troopers in Mine Security Station as in my 23% SS 1:42. I did early SUN (flawlessly), though, so you might not consider it being the standard route. And I obviously won't activate IS in future 22% SS attempts, so...
I lost quite exactly 3 minutes at OP (2 round OP in 23% SS LOL). Meta Ridley and Metroid Prime fights were both okay, I think. Is 19 in-game minutes from Ship to credits okay in 23% SS? Those fights are just so important to the final in-game time...
so i was thinking it might be a good idea to have links to videos next to the runs on the leaderboard so that people actually know where to go to watch them. anyone coming across the leaderboard probably wants to actually watch the runs they see there but don't necessarily know if a video exists. might be a little annoying to add videos at first but it shouldn't be difficult to maintain after that as long as people link the video of their run when posting a time (if one exists). what do you think?
Yeah, there's a thread for videos for fusion/mzm as well; I could probably just make the times link to their respective runs on the leaderboards thread for metroid prime
EDIT: Would you want me to make a separate thread with videos, or just link them in the leaderboards? Having a separate thread would be good, especially if a runner has past runs that are significantly different route-wise or something.
The only thing is, there isn't a video for some actual PBs (example - miles's 1:15 100%), and as i mentioned, it could be beneficial to have multiple runs of the same runner to show different routes and such?
the link would go to his fastest recorded time from that player. you could put a note or something at the top of the page mentioning that some runs weren't recorded and that times in parentheses are the fastest recorded time from that player.
if you want you could just make a thread doing what you're suggesting but i really think that a run should be linked to directly on the leaderboard.
Hm could be good to do both honestly, one thread with just purely videos (with older runs from players as well), but also add links on the leaderboards (really, there's no reason not to... outside of my laziness). I could go ahead and do that for both prime and the mzm/fusion ones too sometime this week (I'm lazy)
