Last 3D Metroid game?

As you already know they announced that MP3 will be the last of the
Prime trilogy but does that also mean that it will mean it will be the final 3D game? What do you think?

I highly doubt it: However, it may be the last 3D Metroid as we currently know it. Nintendo may try to create a 3rd person 3D game down the line.

Who knows? Seeing as the Metroid series has been gaining popularity recently due to all of the releases it has had, I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of Samus and the Metroids soon enough. (Either in 2D or 3D)

No, but its the end of the Prime trilogy. There is a very good chance that we will see another Metroid game, perhaps taking place after Fusion (seeing as the 2D sequel, Metroid Dread, doesn't seem to be in developement).

I'd like to see a third-person 3D Metroid as well. While the FPA setup has worked really nicely, it needs to evolve more (which Corruption ought to accomplish). Then, Nintendo should move on to another different formula. Even a large, semi-3D sidescroller for the Wii, using the controller in its "NES position" would be cool.

If they do decide to try a 3rd person style, I hope they continue making 1st person Metroid games, much as they've continued making side-scrollers after the advent of Prime.

I can't imagine myself enjoying a 3rd person 3D game as much as I've enjoyed the Prime Series.

Don't forget: before Prime, no one could imagine a first-person Metroid game being enjoyable at all.

I think that first-person Metroid games aren't going to end with Corruption, either. The way the in-visor vantage, environments, and impartial scan logs enhance the feeling of isolation is perfect Metroid material. In fact, my greatest worry with Corruption is that it won't play on those strengths enough.

okay, was it just me, or did Samus' head look entirely WAY too big in that? Kind of a lol there.

A cel-shaded Metroid? I dunno... it could work, but only if they did something along the lines of MMX7. Doing anything WW-ish ever again would be just wrong and blatantly stupid.

How about a first person game when in suit, but also including 3rd person stealth based stuff in the Zero Suit. I loved the "stealth" aspects of MZM, and would love moreso to see something more fleshed out.

my umbrella goes directly to Bankai

they should do a new 2D game before making another 3D one after Corruption. the last 2D one came out almost 3 years ago while the last 3D one came out barely 1 year ago.

3rd person Metroid has it's possibilities but it loses some cool stuff from Prime. it depends on what the replacements are.

Last I knew Ghost had pretty much been delayed indefinitely, or else flat out cancelled.

But that would be interesting, if there was a logical reason for Samus to not have her Power Suit again. (That was in fact one of my favorite new parts to ZM as well. Showed that, even without the suit Samus can still handle herself very well.)

with the current SSBB vids having Samus and Snake close, i wonder if we'll start to see fans requesting for more stealth in Metroid...

also, having Snake replace the place Falcon had in SSBM (being close to Samus) makes me get worried about the future of the F-Zero series even more (are they totally axing the series from SSBB and overall?)
