Yeah well, it is pretty true, regardless of the the origin of the phrase. A pox on the PAL release schedule, pricing etc.

Saw the earlier reference to the time gap between the US and Europe Echoes releases - sorry for my redundant repetition. 1-2 weeks and they still slipped in changes :( Guess they were fixing stuff already picked up in testing then.

I've never been motivated enough to import a US version, but the time may have finally come. So far in this thread I've only seen PALpeople talking of buying US Wiis. I've seen Wii freeloaders being sold around the place. Any word whether they are satisfactory? I'd rather go that route if I can than procure an entire US Wii setup. Link to an old topic would be fine to avoid a retread.

Plus, Halo and Metroid aren't really competing.

Tell that to the MP2 launch however many years ago.

asi said some time ago, that has more to do with the GC userbase stopping buying games and not liking mp1 that much and not so much with Halo 2 on the xbox (i don't think anyone who got Halo 2 would have bought mp2 instead if the release dates were more far apart)

now if the 2 games were on the same system, that would have been possible...

you would be surprised at how divided the opinions are on the prime series (with one side loving it a lot and another side hating it badly). i haven't seen that among the Halo series. they have haters but much less than the prime games.

to me it seems that about half of the people hated mp1 and passed on the sequel. now, divide mp1's sales by 2 and you get very close to mp2's sales. Nintendo's bad marketing and inability to make hype had their effect too.
in the Halo camp, seems that Halo 1 became more and more popular over time and then the sequel surpassed it in sale thanks to hype and good marketing. there were a few people that hated halo 1 but they were too few compared to the people that liked it.

imo it doesn't matter if halo 3 comes out on september, november or next year, mp3's sales depend more in Nintendo's ability to market the game and hype it and convince people that it is really worth to play it.
Yeah, damnit Bill Gates! You are too rich as it is!
Still, MP3 is extremely exciting to me. I also watched some of the trailers and morphball movement has been sped up a few notches :D.

That's good news, though I never really had a problem with current Morph Ball speeds.
