Like someone else said, loved the new take on Ridley's theme. Not surprised to see it appear again since we know he's coming back.

Too bad I can't understand what was being said though, since I still have some hope that the storyline will be interesting. But yeah, was finally nice to see all of her other tricks show up in a trailer for once. Thought I saw the wave beam in there at one point, but not sure. In any case, this is definitely their best gameplay trailer since as others have said it shows off the game a lot better than any of the others have.
Forgot to mention that. Ridleys theme orchestral is teh awesome.
This article has me worried. Very worried. Particularly

Shed some of your knowledge of how a Metroid game might control.

The last shred of hope that this would be anything like the previous games is gone. At least the soundtrack will be cool.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely

Metroid: Other M is immediately not a lonely game. Samus is on a space station called the Bottle Ship, teaming up with some space marines including her former commanding officer.

This guy acts like this is the first time this has happened. Hello to you, Fusion Echoes and Corruption!

wow it's actually called the BOTTLE ship? I thought that was just some inside-joke thing that I didn't know about. I guess it's supposed to be funny because it's Battle Ship with a switched vowel?

lol no way
Dudes I don't think different controls means it's going to suck inherently. It's just the third iteration. Anyway that's how I feel this moment, after reading that kotaku article. I do hope the demo is only a small section of the game and there is a period of isolation. Even Fusion did that much.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
You have to take the Kotaku article with a grain of salt though, not only because it's a Kotaku article, but also because the guy is clearly retarded as evidenced by his surprise that switching to first person view points the camera in the direction you are facing at the time.

He's correct about the story being dumb though. We all know that by now.

First I was like Neutral but then when Ridley's Theme kicked on I was like grin new
ANKOKU
Here's a thought.

Bottle Ship is a massive tutorial level and the actual game takes place on that planet. Samus loses her items from that Beak attack (during ridley's theme), and the game starts from there!

A man can dream damnit!

That's actually kinda plausible. It could be like the pre-phazon suit portion of Corruption.
that'd be awesome, but then why would they show it on the cover?  the planet probably isn't till near the end.

you guys still think there is a planet? that plains were prolly another hologram...
I'm pretty sure that I heard Nate Bihldorf hint that there'd be multiple locations
Almost happy
Wow, a whole rag-tag team of space marines that follow you around, I hope they all have different hilarious personality quirks!

Other than that this trailer returned a bit of hope that maybe this game won't be a huge disappointment.

FONZIE - Fonzie will never die...
100% ending: Adam lived but he forgot to tell Samus about it.

So he didn't blend?  Guess that makes him, the crowbar, and Chuck Norris.
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
I can't wait until someone finds the glitch to disable Adam's locks on Samus' suit functions.

I'm still hoping that they'll somehow make it possible to sequence break for different powerups.  I read somewhere that there's a Trust Meter or something that determines how many of them that Adam lets Samus use.  That will either mean grinding to fill the Meter, or sequence breaks exploiting game mechanics to get to scripted events that will fill the Meter sooner than intended.
Indie Lover
probably the trust meter was more like a analogy, and the item will be made avaible after certain chalenges are objectives are met, if not, the game would become very bizzare...

man remember when we just hunted down power ups? those were good times.

agreed, when we got lost in maridia? ah, good times indeed...

but y'know... i understand adam, if samus drop a power bomb in the middle of a fight, man, they're absolutely screwed...
she does have a tendency to blow everything near her anyway....
