Do you really think that Twilight Princess would sell more GCs if it comes out after the X360 and the PS3 come out? I think not. Also, since it would be released so late in the GC's life, many of the people who already own a GC wouldn't get the game because they'll already own a next-gen console. It would smarter to release the game on the Rev than it would to release the game on the GC...

Umm, i'm pretty sure that PS3 is coming out in late 2006, early 2007, from what ive heard. And plus, would it matter? It completely stole the show at E3, even with all the next-gen hype. 4 hour-long lines just to play it? Thats crazy! Yes, i do think it will sell tremendously even with the Xbox 360.
Ok, why does everyone think that just because this game is being delayed that it instantanously means that its for the Revo? Nintendo has NEVER said it would be for it, and plus, whats the point? It would sell more on the GCN anyway, because people actually have bought it and dont need to spend another 200+ dollors for a new game system. Also, people have already pre-paid for this game, and they arent just going to cut them off saying, "Hey, you cant pay for this, since you need a Revolution." Also, they said they were adding content, not reworking the grphics for a Revolution port. That would take even MORE time to do, and its just not worth it when the picture is already drop-dead gorgeous.
I'm sorry, but everyone at SCu thinks this too, and its just like, no! And i cant seem to drill it into their minds...
Well um.. just give them this URL and tell them to read the bottom.
Quote from that article:
With Twilight Princess being pushed in 2006, some Nintendo fans are wondering if the game might ultimately be killed for GameCube and instead repositioned as a launch title for Revolution, the Big N's next-generation platform. Revolution is set to launch sometime in the second half of 2006, according to sources. According to Kaplan, though, the game is still scheduled to ship for GameCube.
"In effect, because of the backward compatibility built into Revolution, every GameCube game also will be a Revolution title," she said. "But we feel a commitment to the GameCube owners who've been patiently awaiting this new Zelda title, and don't want to force them to wait and buy a brand new system in order to play the game."
Kaplan dismissed the notion that the delay of Zelda would put Nintendo in a tricky situation as GameCube owners decide whether or not to stick with the system or purchase Microsoft's new console this November.
"I think we are talking two different things here," she said. "Those who love Zelda will be thrilled when it arrives, and we believe will still want to purchase it even though the wait might have been a disappointment."
The Nintendo spokesperson also had a message for GameCube owners deflated by this latest delay. "Our message is that we understand what a disappointment this is solely because we know people are eager to play Zelda," she said. "The philosophy of 'quality-first' still lives within Nintendo and it's something we won't compromise on. When Zelda game arrives, we hope to hear that players are thrilled with it and believe the wait was worth it. We think it will be."
Now compare that to "we think he have created the most beautiful thing in the world and if Frank Lloyd Wright wanted to put a doorway in the wrong damn place you wouldn't question him, now would you? Of course not, you'd be happy, because you just paid 200 of your hard-earned dollars to let Frank Lloyd Wright design your house. Tough bananas."

Yeah, well Perrin Kaplan also said that the DS wouldn't be online.
Let me put it this way; stores have already taken pre-orders on this game. It's a little late to change consoles... if they are but are just lying about it, it'll be a FIASCO. There could be chance they could get sued or something.
Not really. Remember Nintendo Pennant Chase Base? Maybe not, but Nintendo was supposed to release a realistic baseball game this summer. However, it got "indefinately postponed" and recently, gaming stores, such as EB Games got an order to refund any pre-orders of the game. No one is getting sued. If TP were to be released for the Revolution, Nintendo would probably order the stores to refund the pre-orders. As simple as that.
I dont know why people cant have faith and just sit and wait paitiently for this game. Its at least 75% into production. I dont think they're making it for the Revolution, it would be too much hassle for EVERYONE.
And who's going to buy a PS3 for 1000 bucks? You would have to be out of your flippin' mind.
Maybe so... but I can't see Nintendo pulling something like that after specifically stating TP WILL be on the GameCube. Why lie about it now when they'll have to admit it in the end anyway? It makes no sense. Have some faith.
The PS3 price is not official yet. Unless Ken Kutaragi and co. have completely lost their minds (which is not entirely out of the question), it will not be costing more than $400 US. If he has more sense than I think he does, it will be around $300-$350.
And who's going to buy a PS3 for 1000 bucks? You would have to be out of your flippin' mind.
A representative of Sony said that the price range for their next console would be between $500 and $1000 in an interview with IGN. We know that the X360 is $400. And we know that the PS3 will be more powerful that the X360. Therefore the price shall be higher, which puts it in the $500+ range.

Can't really compare it, can you?
flickerbatting funniest thing this whole year. 'no, it's not wrong, it's not changing, go away noob!'
i highly doubt that sony will try and sell it for $1000. from what i've heard they can't even make money retailing for $500 since the parts alone will cost more than 400. i mean, you put down $500 for the system, then another 200 on accessories and (launch) games? with that cash you'd be mostly on your way to the complete nes 'games and accessories' collection that the pa guys bought this summer. and yes, i already know which i would rather spend 1000 bucks on.
oh, wait, this isn't the nextgen console topic. blargh.

Yeah, I mean I hate to keep bringing it up, but I mean, what would Nintendo have done in that situation?
"Oh, Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ, we're so sorry! Here, send em in, we'll fix em and give you a refund! Man we dropped the ball on that one! Dude we are so.sorry."

I'm also completely with you. And for exactly the same reasons (well, the one about people pre paying). Nintendo would have a LOT of pissed off customers ;p
