What are you expecting from the final Prime?
It'll be awesome, and exceed the previous Primes. (8)
It'll be a different style than the previous Prime games, but just as good. (9)
It'll be somewhere between Prime and Prime 2. (11)
It won't be as good as either of them, but it'll be good nonetheless. (2)
It's going to be a generic shooter, nothing like the originals. (3)

I'm expecting it to be between Prime and Echoze, but I'm deeply hoping they can pull this off and have it exxeed the original.
Thread title:
Anywhere, everywhere
At first I was skeptical, but I think this will be just as good, albeit in a new way...

The new plot twist in the aurora video might have influenced my choice, too. ;P
I think I know what you mean, depending on how the information from the video is played out over the course of the game itself.

But I believe it will be somewhere inbetween from everything I've seen so far. It's VERY hard to beat the original Prime in terms of Metroid greatness, as only Super accomplishes that in my opinion.
not evil,just hungry
It really depends on what you are looking for.  If you hope that it will be broken wide open like MP1 and the MP2 SW's, then chances are that you will be dissapointed.  If you are looking for a good FPA, then chances are that you will be more pleased.

I expect there to be some breaks, but I doubt there will be anything as big as Space Jump First.  I also expect the Screw Attack will be fixed.  It's likely Ghetto Jumps, L Jumps, and maybe some of the bomb jumps will work, but it is unclear if they will have any use this time around.

Basically, I think the game is going to be at least better than MP2 in terms of normal gameplay (for lack of better word).  I'll take a crack at finding breaks, but I'm not expecting many major finds.
I think it will be slightly worse than Echoes, but still a worthwhile and good game. I don't know if it will truly feel like a Metroid game, though. Judging by the preview videos I've seen, it looks like the game will be like a combination of Metroid Fusion and Quake III Arena. We'll see how it turns out, hopefully it'll be even better than Prime.

It will in no way come close to Prime, but it'll beat Echoze by miles. This one actually looks fun. >_>

Don't think that's possible.

Agreed, though I still have high expectations for some reason.
Imo it will be better than echoze but not as good as prime, which is an option I don't see on the poll.
I have huge expectations which I fully believe will be fulfilled. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption will crush Prime 1 and 2. Also, I have a strong feeling that when someone speedruns this, the aim will be sub 2:20 for a any% run  :|  Because if the recent spoiler/s are true, we are looking a lot of enemies  :-s
red chamber dream
Right, because in speed runs people fight most of the enemies. >_>

. . .

Poll option three: "It'll be somewhere between Prime and Prime 2."
I think I'll be as good as Prime but in a different style, it looks incredibly fun, and the new controller gameplay looks awesome, but no, It doesn't feel like metroid, although that's why its Metroid Prime because it's a metroid game but whith a diferent kind of style, if not they would just make metroid 6 7 8, and not Prime.

I just hope you actually get some upgrades from chozo statues, and having to break the little ball that protects them would give me great satisfaction.
I am expecting nothing more than the best Videogame ever created, so I guess I will get disappointed  Wink

Seriously,
I really hope, that Metroid Prime 3 will be just as genious as the original Prime  and after these trailers, I think, that Retro Studios has made an awesome game!
Armor Guardian
It will be so good that I'll get a brain aneurysm and die due to its sheer awesomeness.

It depends on which game we are talking about. By enemies, I also mean bosses included, which I somehow believe we wont be able to skip. Hope I am wrong.
red chamber dream
That's what we said about Echoze, though, and look how many bosses can still be skipped or Sequence Broken in that pile of shit.
I don't really have any expectations for this. It's the end of a trilogy, and that always has a lot of uncertainties, but I'm not expecting anything. I don't want to get my hopes up about something which then turns out not to happen/be there. Instead, I'm just gonna enjoy the game as is.

Although, I personally would like to see proper super missiles brought back in a metroid game, like in SM, instead of the beam combo method. But I doubt it'd be in MP3, just because it would break what is a prime tradition, all weapons have beam combos, even if some are virtually useless. The only ones I ever really used in prime 1 were the super missiles and ice spreader, and in echoze, I only really used the super missiles.
Except I doubt Beam Combos are coming back because we only have ONE beam weapon that gets constatnly upgraded this time. I'm expecting we'll probably encounter super missiles or something as a general missile upgrade.
Pi-Face
Or it could be like Super Metroid, where you can unequip beams, and a beam + charge beam lets you use a combo. Hopefully they'll have a combo for each seperate beam combination!! (as long as you don't have to pick them up individually, that is...)
l'appel du vide
I expect to be underwhelmed by the controls.
I expect it to be about as good as both of them, albeit in a different way- much like how Prime 2 didn't have the same high points as Prime 1 did.

Nevertheless I do not expect it to shame the Metroid series and I know that, like the previous titles, I will have a great time with it.

i'm lowering my expectations so i'll be more impressed with the final game.

i was hyped for TP and it ended up feeling a bit shallow. in contrast, i didn't have much hype for WW and i enjoyed it. for MM it was kinda in the middle but that's because there were 4 dungeons only.

i think it will be a better game in normal play but worse in speed running. mp1 and 2 are quite boring without SBing now that i look back (even though i never played mp1 the intended way)
red chamber dream
Agree with most of that except a) I was really hyped for TWW, b) MM is not about the dungeons, son, and c) Metroid Prime is incredible even without SBs.

i realized most of MM's greatness some years after i got it. the topic is about inmediate expectations and i was expecting MM to be more like OoT at first. over time that changed and i'm glad the game is different now.

also, i couldn't stand mp1 at first. it was years later that i could get into it but it was more due to overcoming motion sickness in the prime games thanks to mp2 and being bored in nov 2005. SBs helped for the replay value.
my only real worry with MP3 is this multiplanet thing. Because I just hope they pull if off better than hunters did. My major problem with hunters was the shallowness of the environments. In that game, the scan visor was all but redundant, and the environments seemed bland, nowhere near as in depth as in either of the prime games. That, and the repetitiveness of the bosses. Each one was a hyped up version of the previous ones, and they weren't that difficult either.

Some parts of the game felt overly tedious, while others were too simple. It was a good game, but I expected it to be awesome. It also has no replay value for me, the multiplayer seems to be the games highlight, not quite what I expected. In fact, I've probably put more hours into the multiplayer than the single player.

So far, the enviornments look outstanding to me: Very detailed and beautifully designed in terms of appearance in my opinion. We'll just have to wait and see what they look like in person though before I can make the final judgment on them. And as far as I can tell, the boss battles look like they're going to be quite different from each other as well, and I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves with the later ones. (And if you want difficult bosses in Hunters, try a 15% run against Slench 4 Shocked )

Retro hasn't let me down in the previews for Corruption, so I'm expecting the game to be an awesome single player experience, but I'm still a little unsure of how the "Metroid Feel" will remain intact. Prime sold me within the first few minutes of landing on Tallon IV, and LONG before I discovered this site and Sequence Breaking.

Like I said earlier this week: I think it will far surpass Echoes, but be unable to beat out the magic that is Prime.

Spot on, good sir. I don't think the multiplanet thing will affect me because I gave up all hope of Sequence Breaking a long time ago. Am just gonna play the game and have a kick ass time.
