for me, i'd say the reason i haven't played the games is burnout from the series. i did replay most the games before other m came out (only hunters, the original and pinball weren't replayed) and then beat other m about 5 times (1st playthough, hard mode, 100%, 100% in jp version and any%).
this is actually similar to the zelda burnout i had a few years back where i didn't play any of the games for like 3 years after i had done 100% in both OoT and MM in the GC collector's edition and 100% in both Oracles and LA.

Yeah, watching it was painful. I had to do it though.
I also watched them again as the japanese version with "funny" subtitles. In the context, they were terrible. (The plot was how the Federation came to search for Adam's birthday present, which is most likely something Fluffy. Also, something about Pokmon and cathing Ridley.) It was still better than urM:OM.
