Its finally sinking into me that samus should not have started crying when she saw Ridley in other m. It would be HELL of a lot more appropriate if it was in Metroid Prime. Especially the Boss Fight at the Artifact temple. Especially because this is only the second time that she has fought ridley. She could cry her freaking eyes out in Prime and It would make so much sense.

Samus is still awesome, Other M told me that Samus Aran is a beautiful person both in and out. She has feelings of care and concern and thats ok, but she overreacted in the Ridley scene.

SO much wrong with that in my opinion. I've never understood why people are afraid of characters showing emotions, or real people for that matter. It's one of the traits that makes us who we are, so why deny it?

I was joking there. Loads of awesome people cry. Even Rambo cries. One of my favourite games is MGS3, with one of favourite protagonists who sheds manly tears at the end.

I'm all for giving Samus emotion as long as it makes sense in the context given.

also, a good VA is always neccesary. Too bad the scene where Samus's va decides to be convincing makes no sense whatsoever

The Ridley Crybaby scene should not have existed at all.  Screw putting it in Prime.  I don't really care about the rest of Samus' characterization, because anyone who's played Fusion, or heck, even the end of RoS, knows that she was never emotionless or without compassion.  But she's never been the little sissy coward that she was portrayed as in that cutscene.  Screw PTSD and screw the rest of the half-baked attempts at justification.  It was just plain bad writing.

PTSD would make the most sense in this whole issue, but again It should have been in PRIME Not Other M!
