i took the effort to update the first post's content. here's the updates:
• unlike MP1, there's no Version differences between the Japanese and US versions of MP2 for Wii (apart from the language of course). • BSJs and Roll Jumps can't be done since the glitch to jump after an instant unmorph was fixed. • Ghetto jumps are exacerbated in the first place but can be even more so 'boosted' by locking onto something with the scan or combat visor and Ghettoing. • 101% Ghetto can still be done, along with the Industrial Site ghetto. • Early Seekers can essentially still be done but you cannot manipulate the spinners to access the seekers. • Early boost can no longer be done. • TRHBJ is still possible I'm pretty sure. • Gravity Boost could still be gotten early; at the cost of your sanity. • Early Screw Attack is probably a no-no. no roll jumps/freeze dash but there could be a new undiscovered method... • Dark Suit can be skipped like in the GC version. you can go to Torvus just after you get the Light Beam. do the Ghetto Jump in Abandoned Base just like before (the jump reaches the ledge even without extra moves) • Secret Worlds can be done in several places but not in others since the more prominent ones like TAS were fixed. Morph SWs still work in doors with hollow rings. SA SWs can't be done because SA clipping was fixed. • Early Power Bomb Expansion from near TAS works using a different SW (SW50 - Transport B). • for more misc. information, check out the JP version topic.
Grand Abyss - Can likely be bypassed with the SW in this room, assuming it hasn't been fixed. Hive Dynamo Works - Can be done using a lucky Scan Dash (one try) or a lucky blast of the seeker targets (one time) Phazon Pit - Screw Attack is collected by the time you need to be in this room. Sanctuary Temple - Might be the biggest hitch. SW's probably. Vault - Might try a Strawberry Surprise. Venemous Pod - IIRC you can still jump off the Ing Cache.
Hive Dynamo Works - Midair morph over an elevator skipping a long dark world scene. The ghettos in this game are exacerbated so it should be even easier. Temple Access - Ghetto jump + screw attack over the gate, speed trick and SB. Unseen Way - Just jump on the damn platform!
Hive Dynamo Works - Same as without Dark Visor. Hyrdodynamo Station - Crazy ass underwater dash to Light or Dark door. Temple Access - Same as without Dark Visor.
Dynamo Access - Use my method, stand on the poles and just jump over the spider thing. Dynamo Works - Do a difficult Sasuke Hop to reach the top. Hall of Combat Mastery - Midair morph over any of the spider inclinations. Hive Dynamo Works - Jump on the morph ball hole and screw attack to the ledge with the key. Main Research - Tricky scenery climbing to difficult to describe. Sanctuary Temple - Unfortunately you can't seem to exit this room without spider/sw's. SW's do seem to be the key for this one. Watch Station - Also likely impossible.
the main PB can be collected in the Sky Temple Key clean-up the Sky Temple Key near Spider Guardian can be collected just after getting Spider you can do the Boost Guardian quick kill you can skip most of dark hydrodynamo station by going to Grapple Guardian right after the Lower Torvus Temple Key the faster route to escape Sanctuary after returning the energy can be used.

SW70 requires Screw Attack, as you need a LOT of distance to board the maintenance drone there (if you can get on the one-time-only drone for the scan dash, you don't need the SW); you'd want to try SW65: Sentinel's Path for skipping the Abyss. It's what I do in place of the scan dash when I'm goofing around, though it takes much longer and requires quite a bit of ether jumping (I hope falling physics still work the same...). Otherwise, Main Gyro Chamber's Morph SW can be tough, but would be enough to get through both the Abyss and the Temple provided you can ether jump. The question of skipping Grand Abyss with secret worlds has less to do with finding an entrance and more to do with whether the new physics will permit it.
If MGC isn't an option, the Quad MB SW method in Minigyro Chamber should still be available, and if you can find a non-SA way to the maintenance drone, Workers Path would work as well, but only for Grand Abyss. If all else fails for crossing GA, SW93 would be a last resort for Grapple skipping.
If I mentioned Sentinel's Path before, apologies, I don't have time to check right now. I'm sure some, if not all of this was obvious to you as well Sasuke, but I'm throwing ideas out there for anyone that would like to take a shot.
those were actually baby sheegoth's ideas since i was updating his post. i haven't looked deeply into skipping items yet since grapple looked hard to skip even on GC. that's some good advice though. it could be useful if someone decides to try this (who knows, i might look into it when i have more free time)
version difference: Lights on the top part of the visor now go out to indicate the wii remote's battery level. This change was made only to prime 2 and not prime 1, however.

The way your left hand grabs onto the beam when you do a combo bugs me now. The beam keeps moving around and the hand doesn't follow it very well. It's an obvious side effect of the control changes, but it's still a little annoying. Especially when you consider how awesome Darkburst, Sunburst, and Sonic Boom are.
I don't see this anywhere in the topic, but the ghetto jump to get on top of the laser in Crypt still works. Just beat Grapple Guardian and set foot into Dungeon. That should confirm no Grav Boost.
I'm a little confused actually. The opening post talks about solving Catacombs for skipping Grav Boost, but the laser works just fine. Has the topic not been updated? Is this route a problem just because it forces you by Grapple Guardian? In that case, couldn't you take the Morph SW at the save station, wallcrawl to Dungeon and load it around you, get the STK, and then leave normally through the bottom of Sacrificial Chamber EDIT: or by clipping through the bars in Catacombs, apparently (assuming a way to skip Grapple is found, of course)? Does some part of that not work?
EDIT2: Is Hall of Combat Mastery without Spider really doable? I tried for an hour last night to get through to no avail. Maybe it has something to do trying to control "L" and "X" with the same finger (holding the direction lock the whole time?). I've also tried spring + boost to get over, but that hasn't worked either. I've gotten over the spider track by the door to Minigyro Chamber, but that one's much wider (and offers good camera angles). I feel I can keep the momentum better there.
that's really nice. i never tried the laser ghetto in the trilogy but this, coupled with early PBs, could be interesting. the only issue i see is the sky temple key where you need gravboost to open the portal.
btw, most of the original first post had ideas that probably no one tried so stuff like the laser ghetto and hall of combat mastery without spider remained unconfirmed. also, not many people played this version at all for speed (i think i was the only one to do a speed run) leaving the topic kinda abandoned since september.
i still want to record a new run with the early PB since it saves so much time over my old test run.

That would be the ST key in Dungeon, but thanks to the laser ghetto the underwater dash in Catacombs isn't necessary. Open the portal in Gathering Hall during your first trip (for the lower Torvus key), ghetto up the laser in Crypt, PB the door to Undertemple Access and pick up the key, climb back up and head toward Sacrificial Chamber, defeat Grapple Guardian, PB the door leading to Crypt (Undertransit number something), deactivate the barrier, and leave. When you come back with the Light Suit for the ST key, use the Gathering Hall portal again and just go around to Dungeon.
For speed purposes, a large chunk of time is lost on the second trip since you have to go through the two Undertransits and Sacrificial Chamber. Fortunately, you don't have to make the return trip - If you take the portal in Dungeon back to an unsolved Catacombs, you can still clip through the bars (easily) - and I'm sure this is all much faster than dealing with the Hydrodynamo puzzle and Alpha Blogg.

Ah, okay. Don't take my word on HoCM. I thought I may have just been having trouble with the Wii version, but I switched in my GCN copy of Echoes and still couldn't do it. At some point I lost the ability to make that ghetto, and I haven't been able to get it back. =( This jump may be doable.
