wow. the houston sprite is just TOO familiar. Back when i made (bad) metroid comics, I used the same coloring scheme. Only difference was, I was named Locke.
Wow... I can honestly say I've never seen that before. We took the coloring (and the name) from Armstrong Houston in the Nintendo Power Super Metroid comic. I don't know if you did the same, but... weird coincidence nonetheless.
look at armstrong in the picture. I think that your first sprites of him were more accurate, but the current ones make me think im actually in a good comic. Keep it up.
the secret projects still being worked on... and it will be reveiled soon. but some things are currently more important than maru mari... such as finals.
Alright! Go to maru mari! Now! Check out the great new look!(let's just say, Super Metroid sprites ROCK! :D ) We're finally out of Classic, and venturing into Prime! Woohoo!
Now, i would like to know... what the hell is that giant turtle thing?
that giant turtle thing, is a boss from the now revealed secret maru mari project :P. The project is titled "Houstons Big Adventure!". In it, Houston must explore an undiscovered planet, battling enemies, and meeting new friends in an RPG style adventure. Why an RPG? cause im curious to see how a metroid RPG would work out 8)
I have this strange feeling that a metroid rpg might be one of the worst games ever made. Your choices of characters would be samus, mrs. aran, and the newborn. Your moves would include shoot and not shoot. This game would be like rock paper scissors.
an RPG might work out better than you expect. however, its going to be quite different from other RPGs. each of the characters grows stronger in different ways. Houston has only 9 levels, which take a long time to gain. Each level, he gains 1 defence, some attack power, and some agility. You have to increase his HP by finding energy tanks, and his MP by finding missile containers, and such. The next character, who shall remain unnamed, grows stronger by defeating enemies, and eating meat and other substances they leave behind.
As for the margrin...thing... thats toozins doing, not mine. I do the gags and the art for the comics. Toozin also does gags, but no artwork. instead, he does all the website stuff, like updating the page.
also, what are some elements you guys would like to see in HBA? i want to know, so i can (hopefully) get some really interesting stuff in it. nothing to hard though, theres only so much man power behind this.
What stuff do you need help with, anyway? I tried making a super-style spider ball once, but it wasn't very good, and I never finished it anyway. Do you want me to dig it out and show it to you?
we need a -TON- of graphical stuff. for HBA, we need graphical stuff too. like 8bit AND 16bit graphics for enemies, and music. i could go further into detail, but i had 6.5hours of exams today and dont really want to. if you think you can help, contact me (for HBA and the comic) or toozin (for the comic)
Heh, if you think about it, i think ZM saved maru mari's ass, considering that they get to go through the first game again before having to worry about Prime.
