Could I get a screenshot showing the positioning of Samus for early space jump? I've been dash jumping off my ship for about an hour now and get hit that ledge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
there are usually 2 ways to do it:
1. do a backwards bended dash directly from the position exiting the ship.
2. go a few steps back and dash directly to the side.

to get a successful dash make sure to have B pressed for as short as possible as the quicker you release B the more height you will get. Also don't turn during the dash, since there is a vertical speedcap that can kill your speed if you turn during the dash.
It's really not a precise position you need to have. Overall it's a pretty lenient dash actually once you have the knowledge and execution.
To follow up on what E-Dragon said, I find that standing on the absolute back-right corner of the ship can cause me to bonk and fall down.  I have much better luck when I'm just a tiny bit ahead of that spot.
I run this here hotel of an evening
i'm not even sure where i do the sjf dash from. my fingers have gotten so used to it. it feels like i step back for maybe half a second before the lock on, though i have to bend the dash back (from closer to the middle than on the back burner) when trying the seedling dash. maybe it's just me?

ah the memories of many many sjf fails. muscle memory is awesome :)
Thanks! Finally got it. Just exploring around Chozo Ruins with early space jump now. Is there a suggested entry level route?

i just finished the game on dolphin but it seems like i still cannot skip any cutscenes :/ does anyone know why that is and how i can solve that problem?
Oh; i meant to post this into metroid prime 2. Anyways, i can skip the first 2 cutscenes but not the rest....

oh okay supposingly you can only skip cutscenes you already watched.. i used cheats to complete the game asap, guess i gotta do a 100% run then...
you can also download a save file from gamefaqs.

thanks, sadly the only pal save i could find was in agon at the start of the game... im using pal cause i can play it at 50 fps which makes the game run much smoother.

I have a completely different problem now, somehow my jumps are smaller than they were before, now i cant make the alpha blogg skip without a 3bsj for some reason.

Note that on a previous playthrough i used moon jump to complete the game faster, is there a way to fix this? (moon jump is now deactivated)

... oh my god okay i know what it is... Theres a cheatcode that forces the game to run at 50 fps.. however... it lowers your jumpheight goddammit lol

I would be surprised if you somehow made the game to run at 50 fps without cheatcodes, because PAL Echoes doesn't even support 50 Hz ...

yeah i know it worked but my jumpheight was reduced lmao.
Also ... i lowered the mhz from 100% to 45% (like 247 mhz i think) and it runs way smoother for some reason.... Running this game at 247 mhz wtf. Also the menu lags. guess you cant play without that amazing start menu right. Also, tested it for like 20 mins, 45% is the optimal frequency.
Wait, you could also just get an NTSC iso and easily download a 100% save file from gamefaqs.
The difference is just minimal, so I don't think there's a big problem with that.
(I'm assuming you are playing on dolphin to practice with savestates)

Here's my Metroid Prime Trilogy PAL save file. As far as I remember, everything is 100% complete, except I haven't received any friend credits. I did however get all friend vouchers and tried to get as many non-logbook scans as possible. It's been a little while since I used it, so please tell me if what I'm remembering isn't correct.

the difference would have been pretty big (16.6%)
but after lowering the cpu usage, it runs very smoothly, even on laggy places like portals and in torvus when those driplets fall onto you. Only lags when it loads rooms sometimes, i dont need to run it at 50 fps at all anymore. (also it might be better to run it at 60 fps cause who knows what other differences there were)

Thank you for trying to help. But i needed a save for the normal version not trilogy, since i use it for practice purposes. either way i go with ntsc now, since it runs very smoothly. I already got a save online which has 100% for it, too.

Oh, sorry! I got the impression that you were talking about the Wii version for some reason. Now that I look back at the posts, I see that you didn't actually write anything about that. (Maybe I assumed that it was Wii because I assumed that the cutscene behavior could be different between GC and Wii and most people here are used to the GC version... I don't really remember, but either way, it wasn't any reason that made much sense.) Good to hear that it worked out for you.
I tried looking for this particular topic but it was futile.

I'm working on a "getting the kinks out" run and did a few random sequence breaking techniques and unknowingly used the plasma beam covering the grapple point in the Gravity Chamber before obtaining the Grapple Beam.  As you can guess I am now unable to get the missile expansion without doing one of the two tricks. I've watched both videos extensively and just cannot do it.

I've managed to move the Bombu to a spot where it no longer moves so I can lock on and boost jump without waiting for him to move into an ideal position if I fail an attempt. Though now I'm not sure its position matters or not...

As for the Ghetto jump off the wall, I get reaaal close but always end up sliding off the ledge and into the water.  I need that extra "ooomph" to get me just a few inches closer.

Got any tips or possibly a better explanation on how to do the Ghetto jump off the wall face or the boost jump trick to get this missile expansion?

That would be great. Thanks.
turn when youre in the air and continue turning after you hit the slope.

Anyone know if there are cheats/mods to do the following?

1. Enable scan dashing (as in the demo, anytime)

2. Any camera control changes or mods?

Are there any sequence breaks possible in the trilogy version?
It should be the same as Prime Wii.
Amateur Speedrunner, Roleplayer
I'm asking which sequence breaks are possible. I know they fixed some (if not all) of them
All of them on Prime Wii except:
Early Ice beam
Bars skip in GTH

I'm not going to post an entire list of possible sequence breaks -.-

did they fix getting the space jump early?
