Without the purple.......well, you know what the normal screw attack looks like! It was like that, except the screw attack wasn't there, except for the outer electricity. :x ............Just look at the motherbrain tricks........you'll see.
It must be, but I can't seem to replicate it....and also, I went through the game without the screw attack, and good old Fusion-style space jumping came! Without the screw attack, the space jump looks and sounds alot like Fusion's.
If you're talking about flashing effects apparently missing in the lo-quality videos, that's simply a non-product of lo-q video. You may notice in Fusion videos that the Bosses are either completely solid or completely invisible as they're forming (remember the X floating from the top of the screen before it's a boss). It's just frames in the video being cut out.
Edit: I'm editing all my really big useless posts into this so you don't waste your time reading them. If I should just leave them how they are then tell me and I'll stop editing them, but I think it would be better to not waste room on the page and stop if someone tells me to, than leaving them here to be annoying.
Am I stuck here forever? I just got the fully powered suit, and I never got the screw attack. (I chose to avoid it) Well, I cant get out of here. I cant go back from the save station, and I cant go past these screw attack blocks. Are there any blocks that I can destroy without the screw attack to get out of here?
Yes there are couple missile block of floor. You found blocks easily if you use your morph ball bombs.

Thanks, now I beat the game without [...] ice beam....
Pix or it didn't happen.
Also, in case you haven't played Super, so you couldn't figure out a method of leaving Chozodia/Mother Ship and didn't think of this: Tube. The only "point of no return" in this game is Iron Ted's room.
TASers needed. Task: Reverse entrance to Pgrip. Purpose: N/A.
To achieve this, you need to grab the Plasma Beam, come back to the elevator, go left and do a crazy broken HBJ up to the morph tunnel exit. You can't do an ordinary HBJ, though, as you bounce slightly into the metal uvula that looks like it's part of the background. I think this is possible, but most likely far too tough to do on the cart (even by accident, like I did the ziplineless T room to the right of the bottom of the Kraid entrance shaft). This is absolutely nothing more than curiosity, but damn it, I'm curious!
Dfangs? PJ? Up for the task?
I should note that I realize this has absolutely no use for speedrunning or sequence breaking or anything, so I emphasize, I do NOT have an applicable purpose for this.
EDIT: Also, if you people are theorizing that I might be crazy, if I pull this off on the console some day, that should no longer be a theory.

You could have picked up the Varia if you really needed it, too. Varia isn't really a requirement, but if you really need it through Tourian, you can pick it up at any time.
EDIT: Also, if you meant Metal Ridley...tough luck. Sorry, man. Just get lucky against lasers, try to push it back right after every slash, and be sure to duck during each slash.

Remember though, if it takes too much damage at once, it immediately stabs at you or pogos on its tail. I usually only shoot a couple per dive. Also, it's probably a good idea to only shoot as he's diving, as if you shoot him as he spits fireballs, he tails you then, too.
I think they do full on sprite sheets for every suit, despite the fact that many of them will never be used. I used a codebreaker code to get the space jump with the Varia suit equiped, no gravity suit, and it showed the Varia suit's color in the space jump. It's also the same with Fusion as the Omega suit has climbing and computing sprites despite the fact that you're not supposed to be able to do that.
Also, you know how the Varia suit has the shoulder pads RIGHT before the gravity suit? I used a "activate unknown items" code and, since I didn't grab the gravity suit, it had the pre-gravity suit Shoulder pad Varia suit. It even had movement. Something you only see for a few seconds before it becomes the gravity suit has every sprite in its sheet. I actually like this version, it actually has shoulder pads like the Super Metroid one. The Zero Mission normal Varia suit looks like an orange power suit.
Video showing both space jumping as Varia suit and the shoulderpads version of the varia suit:
The thing is, they only need to draw 1 set of sprites, then you can change your suit colour how you want it. There are cheat codes that edit you suit colour and I'm sure they wouldn't write down 2,097,120 different sprite sheets
