I changed the landing site to graphic set 16 (Ceres) and all the tiles looked like they were still from the Crateria graphic set.  I changed the BG data to E4A5, and now it's all green.  How do I get it to look like Ceres?

Excuse me, I need help where I can find inf wall jump in SMILE.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
The infinite wall-jump is just one of Samus's moves, which doesn't really relate to SMILE, so you'd have to make any alterations to it using a hex editor.  What exactly are you looking to do?
I fixed the background problems  but i have randon pls popping up in already done rooms  andthe nes i do place  keep dissapppearing off screen  can anyone help me fix this?

The only thing I can think of is that you've gone over one of the room limits, as this sounds like the sort of behaviour that is supposed to happen.  You may want to ask at MetConst too, as a number of the more experienced hackers rarely visit these boards, but frequent there instead.

You mean that hex editor have one edit wall jump?  Well In Super Metroid 2nd quest, I don't like one time wall jump.  I want more than one wall jump.
Is there a way to put new  music into super metroid?    upper norfair is completly done  and i want that cool music from metroid 1 in that area.

Yes, but it's not easy, and needs to be created manually.  You can read a little about it in Kej's notes.  MetConst have a link in their documents section.  Outside that, you could ask around.  A few users have made headway with it, including LOL.ips, which has the traditional circus music.

Oh, and bradzx, Samus can always do infinite wall-jump, right from the start of the game.

Oh ok.  Yeah I know but I am talking about Super Metroid: 2nd quest hack.  When I use wall jump, it only one time.  I dont get it?  How someone edit wall jump?  It didnt make a sense.  Any idea Quietus?  QuestionQuestion
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Ah, you want to add it into your own hack, yes?

If so, that's not in SMILE, but you can do it.  I actually asked the same thing recently.

You'll need a hex editor, and you can find how to change the game to only allow one wall-jump here.

Just so you know, SMILE is essentially used for the cosmetic stuff within Super Metroid - all of the graphics and that.  It can do some other stuff too, but most of the new moves and game mechanics are created through ASM hacks, and hex iditing.

Good luck!aiwebs_011

Everytime you use "PLM +- feature" in SMILE and ADD new PLMs in the room, you're overwriting PLMs in the next room (or even rooms).

To add new PLM in room without overwriting something, find a free space at the end of bank $8F (somewhere at 7E900) and link to this address be changing pointer in PLM field of your room.

If there is a free space at 7E9A0, enter E9A0 in PLM field in pointers window. Remember address of old PLM location. If there was 6 PLMs, for example, you can use in later (in case if room have 4 PLMs and you need 6 of them).

bradzx: You need to explain what you want to do with it.  Do you want to stop people from doing it?  Do you want people to only be able to wall-jump once? (This is what I gave you above)

For beginning to learn SMILE, this is pretty good.  You could also checkout person701's guide here.
In mygame  is there a way to fix the rooms in wich the plms were overwritten.  and also  since i have all of the areas of old zebes done  From brinstar to tourian  im hoping to now add the enimies and items so if anyone knows how to make the long beam  could you help a newbie out? ;-)

Have you already changed the wall-jump, then, as the jumping you suggest is normal behaviour unless you have made changes?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean about your deafness.  I apologise if I sound rude or whatever.

I gave you two links.  One was for YouTube, and was some beginners' guides by shadow 34370.  I haven't seen him around in a while.  The second link was for a site called Metroid Construction.  It's a site dealing solely with editing the Metroid games.

If you need the link in full, it's http://metroidconstruction.com/docs/person701SMILEGuide.txt

If you just go to w w w . metroid construction . com, and click on the documents link, you can scroll through to find it.  It's from a user named person 7 0 1.

He means he was having trouble hearing whatever was in the video.
After reading bradzx's recent posts here, I'm guessing that he wants to change the single wall jump into infinite wall jump within the Super Metroid: 2nd quest hack.
If that is the case then...
Quote from Quietus:

The information Quietus linked to should do the trick.  If those are the values that were changed to only allow a single wall jump, then use the original values that were also given in that post to change them back and allow infinite wall jumping.
how do i look up the enemies in hex again? what bank are they in?

also how could i find the location of the bomb jump while in morphball, because i would like to make an item to allow samus to bombjump and without it she can't bombjump.
Muahahah
How I change the color of Haze?
And someone know where I can find a good hex tutorial?

1º: Download a program called Tile Layer Pro.
2º: Go to the Graphics editor in SMILE, and export SCENERY GFX and CRE GFX (doors, chozo, blocks, gates, save station).
3º: Export the pallete
4º: Open the Tile Layer Pro, go to FILE  > OPEN, select "all files" and open a GFX archive.
5º: Load your pallete and start editing Applause
6º: After you edit, go to SMILE and import the GFX, and click on Save 16x16  Tile to ROM.
