Can't remember what forum I posted in, but I remember a thread on redesign where I professed my adoration for it. So yeah.. Best hack yet. I've played it three times now.

So I've been playing through this again just to do so and I'm noticing so many things that I didn't notice before.  For instance, I never realized just how many graphical changes you did, such as the piping pieces and (I think) the rocks in Crateria.  I also never noticed the palette changes that you did to Crateria and a bit of Brinstar.

I have a couple questions about some of the things you did.

1.  I know you must have added rooms to the hack but some of the rooms are massive.  How did you manage to create such massive rooms without crashing the game?  I haven't expanded any rooms in my hack so far, but I probably will and I want to know how I can get large rooms
2.  What graphics did you overwrite to create the graphics for the piping and stuff?  Taking a guess, I think you overwrote the graphics for the ocean background in Crateria.  I'd like to create some of my own and was thinking about what I should use.
3.  What is the timing for Infinite Bomb Jumping now?  I can't get it at all.
4.  Why did you make such complex Shinespark puzzles??? They're killers! :P

It's awesome to play through this game over.  I've gotten a higher percentage than previously.  Mostly the only items left are the ones behind the dynamos and the ones requiring IBJ.  Great job you did with this game.  Bravo. =D&gt;

YAY! I finally found Botween (after a few weeks of searching). :D :D Very Happy This is a nice hack again.

Edit: I think I found a glitch. I started a spark to the right from the first pic, while holding right and run, so I can recharge on the slope. But I went inside it. aiwebs_016 But, while trying to reproduce it, I found that it olny works if you start the spark in the area around the first pic.



Thanks for pointing that out Fano, but its been a known issue since before the game was released =)

However good work on finding a slope to get the result on.  I have struggled to recreate that error on any other slope except for the 5 or so I found during pre-beta.
I'll be sure to fix that for Axeil Edition.
Axiel Edition?
If I'm getting it right, it's supposed to be a much easier version. It's named after the poor sap over at Something Awful that did a playthrough of this fun (but sometimes challenging) game. Drew even got in on the commentary, and got to see just how bad Axeil is at playing SM. :P

I don't think its just you.

I think screw attack is like a jumping speedbooster in redesign. You'll notice that you only screw attack while holding the dash button.

Edit: This has been bugging be for awhile. Is it possible to Space Jump up here?

I'm fairly certain it is, but it's really hard because the gap between the sand is tiny. I seem to remember jumping up through there though... I think you have to move in and out of the sand for it to work.
Actually, there's a way around that drops you out about halfway up that shaft.  Then you have to Screw Attack up the rest of it.
The way around starts near the northeast elevator.
Normally you're not suppused to be able to space jump at all through any sort of sand falls.  hence why its not doable without slowdowns.  I don't get why everyone gets stuck thinking thats the way when there is a very clear green door on the right side of the room to go through

I know the way, but its annoying to go all the way around just because I can't SJ up that. Also, was I suppost to Shine-Spark to the Beam Combo?
I've never tried to Shinespark to it before.  The way i just did it was by using Spring Ball in the sand and laying bombs like crazy to boost myself enough to get up and onto a platform.
fire phoenix has it right, you were supposed to springball to beam combo.  I didn't even think you could have enough time t shine spark to beam combo

I made an smv. Also, I found another place for the stuck in slope glitch.

Springball never occurred to me, quite honestly. What I did was just jump repeatedly while holding diagonal. It's what I do for all sand. >_>

My game glitches up. I can't go through the door. :( Does it have anything to do with springballing past this shutter?



that doesn't make any sense, since its a blue door.  theres no reason fir it to not be shootable.  I suggest you re-patch the rom

I can shoot it, but it glitches near the end of the transation. It just turns to a black screen near the time you would start to see Samus's head.
