I am still reading the thread and I appreciate the input, positive or negative.

You shouldn't have to morph to get through the first grappling puzzle. You can just fire the grapple beam through the little opening. If you time it right, you'll pull yourself through. If you time it wrong, you'll grapple, get stuck in the wall for a second, and probably still end up pulled through.
I found myself trying to morph -but not doing it...  Then I realized I was holding the top left shoulder button (L).  That usually happens (to me) in grapple intensive obstacles. Razz

At Biggests Schnoz...  You should also check out the (prequel?  grin new ) to this.  SM_Hangtime.
I gave up at the walljump-puzzle.

Am I really the only one having trouble there?
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
I had a bit of trouble. I just wall jump first the left wall, the lowest point of the block on the right, then go around the fuzzy bit, back in towards the block to wall jump, then up the right wall to the top (I put a SS there), then you need to jump off that wall at about the level when the top of the fuzzy thing is just at the top of the screen, then go over, but not too far, back into the wall, then between the fuzzy parts, and up.

Easier said then done. I just used a savestate halfway through it. (I nearly always use savestates on Minihacks, cause they don't have save stations, and are usually kinda hard)

clear time: 12.
Though, I did use tons of save stats.
And I honestly think this one was to unfair at many points.

I probably shouldn't use any sort of "hall of fame" when some people are save-stating their way to the top, hm?

Well, TBH, you made the hack about 5x more tedious without savestates since just about every grapple part is a "If you fail, you start over" kind of thing.
here

Yes this was a first time playthrough that went on longer than I wanted it to.

For me, I used savestates at the start of each puzzle area. Mostly this was because I got bored watching the room-changing-to-the-start-of-where-you-already-were transition every 5 seconds.

Well, after completing this hack once with savestates I figured I would give it a try using NO savestates, and i'll tell you what... doing that raises the difficultly of this hack by a mile! If you watch, you'll find that I failed, but I plan to eventually get a video up that completes the hack, with NO savestates. (Doesn't help that I forgot how to complete of few of the puzzles...  Rolling Eyes) Until than enjoy my failure.  aiwebs_002

I know I am not the greatest Super Metroid player, so don't expect awesomeness  laugh new

EDIT: I concede to you Acheron86! You hack has bested me. I got so close this time...but to no avail! khaaaan  Also, there was a few errors / glitches that popped up while I was playing. The most noticeable was the one right before I received boost ball.

I'm attempting to complete this hack with no save state whatsoever (with slow down), however, I died near the end. Here's a smv files of me trying anyway.

If you look at my second tries smv, I'm having experience with scroll glitch.

With save states, I have completed this in 14 minutes.

Edit: Here's some snapshots of a scroll glitch that I found.

Inspired by Shadow's idea, I went ahead and did a no-savestates run. Surprisingly I beat it without even a single game over, only 6 health at the end.

In retrospect the challenge is definitely toned towards an expert player. Any future hacks may avoid this... we'll see.
Did you use slow down on your no-savestates run?

Fine, just rub it in. Don't even want to play this anymore... Speak to the hand (Joking)
Just curious, though, what was your time? I think if I ever complete it with no savestates i'll probably be around 30 minutes.  Embarassed

Ha-ha.  Don't keep holding onto some grapple blocks if you should fall to the floor.  grin new

I tried this without save states.  The hardest part I had was the crumble blocks, then gate, and flying platform section (it took a long time, and many tries).  But I died in the next wall jump section.

Now to chew me some Orbit gum.

Edit again: Electrometer Prime.  While watching your video -your accent first reminded me of Ray Ramano.  laugh new

No, but I did use the fast-forward sometimes when waiting for platform enemies. You can hold that against me if you want.

I ended up at 21 minutes. I was pretty happy with that, considering I didn't think I'd beat it at all, at least not on my first time. But it helps when you know how you designed each trick to be cleared...
Go ahead. Stare.
I don't know if you know this, but your crumble bridge is set up sort of wrong. If you fall through it you can Spring ball back onto it and continue to do that across the whole thing. It takes a little bit longer than boosting, but it makes the challenge sort of pointless.

Would it not take much longer then boosting? :<

See video:
It contains cake! :DDDDDDD
Yeah, I somehow managed that when I played through which had me baffled when I watched the semi-TAS.
Almost happy
Or, you could just pass through like this Wink

Can you say, best glitch ever!

Also, smv.

Whoa, man, that is just whoa.
Oh wow... Cpadolf is probably breaking Aegis before it's even released.
What'd you say?
I don't think I understand what just happened.

I fail to see how this is any change from mine. :/

The reason my video is slow is due to slow down for runing to many programs on the same time.

Really? Well, I use a glitch with the boostball to travel at ~15 pixels per frame (the fully accelerated speed of a shinespark), while a boost only ever brings you op to about 8 pixels per frame or so, and slowing down pretty quickly. Even considering the slowdowns in your video I think it takes ~half the time of doing it normally.

oh, okay.
At least we are not doing it the way EP is doing it. XD
