TBH I would release in both MIDI and MP3 or MP3 only. There is a slight and sometimes great difference in how midis sound from one computer to another due to the library of sounds being different for different computers/sound cards. So something that sounds great to you on your comp may not sound so great on someone else's. I used to dl a lot of vidya game midis and I've swapped comps a couple times since then so I know this firsthand. Each comp has its own 'take' on the same midi.

You would in general not ever download and listen to an SPC unless you were really into ripping soundtracks directly from SNES games.
I do it =3 It's superior to mp3s of the game's music in that it sounds basically the same as the song ingame and doesn't take up 70+megs for an OST. More like 200KB or something.
Glad you asked, BionicleGenius! Press F1 to bring up a menu about yea big in your ZSNES:
See the third option there? That's the one you're looking for. Arrow down twice, and press Enter. Simple as that. Of course, finding a player to use it with is entirely up to you. ;)
Of course, this is an acceptable method for ripping single SPCs. If you wanted an entire game's soundtrack collection (in SPC format, of course) you would most likely want to look at a website such as www.zophar.net, since ripping an entire soundtrack means playing the entire game (if the game has a sound test, then your job is slightly less arduous, but still a chore. <_>; )
EDIT: Ohhhhhh right right. I think I'll be more specific here... The SPC file will save to where ever you told it to. If you haven't defined a preset directory (or don't know what I"m talking about when I say define a directory,) the SPC file will save to the same directory as your roms.
Ok, I did what you said, but where is it saved? Nvm. I found it, I think. Is it the file that's the type PKCS #7 Certificates? Yes it is. Also, I found a good SPC player. I'm going to try converting the file to MIDI, which I can then convert to NWC, so I can actually look at the staffs and music that way in Noteworthy. Any file converter recommended?
ARG! I went through all the converters at Zophar.net, and still didn't find one that worked! The only one that actually converted them to midi only used the acoustic drums and acoustic piano, meaning I didn't find the actual instrumentation I wanted. Still doing my best to convert one to midi... Can anyone help please?
Yup. There's nothing there. I just looked under utilities, searched for sound, Super Nintendo, Windows, and everything else was any. Got three results, and none of them were what I was looking for. I have the music; I just don't have the instrumentation, which is annoying.
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder

midi, N-SPC, and tracker files are decently close to eachother and could be translated freely from one to the other (although translating to midi will lose the instrument sampling in N-SPC and tracker files).
Also unless you're really good at working with music you're not going to get far in converting it to sheet music anyways, as there's no time signature. You have to empirically figure the tempo, multiply the starting position/length by the right amount, and then fix the tempo. And all the accelerandos and ritardandos if the song has them.
Tempos and volume I can handle. I'd just like the instrumentation and the notes! That's what really counts with this. I found an SPC player fairly easily, but the converter - every website I've found, I did an in-depth search through it, and turned up nothing that actually worked. Closest was SPC Tool, except that it couldn't find the file I specified. I specified all the folders from C:\Documents_and_Settings to the \Desktop, and tried with out any of the folders - it never was able to actually find it. Any help, people?

Whenever I see a hack that shows this much promise, I tend to always think of Redesign, and the fact that we ended up waiting over two years (I think it was this long in the end :-s) for it, so I don't often find the wait that difficult. This is also why when it was released (even pre-patches), it was very polished.
It also looks like you're very focused on detail, which is nice, as it hopefully means that you're not just adding more rooms, but adding more worthwhile / good rooms.

Now get back to work and release Aegis, already!
Indeed, you cant rush art. Or is that you can..... I alwayz get confused :-s
As long as Aegis isn't rushed, I'll be happy. Speaking of which, how long would you say you have been working on this hack now, Acheron? It must be a fair few months.
El oh el, "halfway done". It was totally true back then, but then again my original Aegis map was about half as big, and I wasn't planning on any ASM...
How'd you do the teleporters? They look really cool. Also, the rest of the notes from this post:
You mean you don't already know?? Acheron86 just waves his moderating wand and *poof* the teleporters work, as only his wand can possibly make them work in Aegis.
He can have 15 different areas the same way that there's "Lower Norfair", "Red Brinstar", etc. Several areas will appear on one map, just different tilesets and stuff from the rest of the area.
