Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant.
Me: "Why is he shooting that? It's taking up precious video time."
You: *Does stuff*
Me: "Frickin' sweet..."

Does bomb torizo always act that way to ice?  I've never tried that.  Either way, sweet.

Yeah, Lucied, you'll be on the thanks notes for that idea, I'd've never thought of it on my own.

I know I kinda dink around in the foggy room. That's to show off the speed shortcuts I'm putting in like candy for this hack.

There's very few enemies in your first trip through. Once you have missiles and morph ball, enemies appear in most empty rooms (same as SM).
Did you increase the gravity? Samus seems to have shorter jumps. Then again, I could just be tired.

You've made my list of most awesome things I've seen: Frozen Bomb Torizo = Nuff said.

Well, with lower jump height, looks like we'll need crouch jumps in some cases.

Frozen Torizo is awesome, I would also like to see one on fire (didn't you say Wave Beam was Heat now, Acheron?)

Gravity is ever-so-slightly increased. There's no place crouch jumping is required. Actually, you can beat this hack without ever walljumping or mockballing or anything, though those techniques will help in acquiring 100%.

Setting things on fire would be a bit too much ASM for me, sorry. You can't fight Torizo if you skip morph ball bombs anyway (one of the alternate paths lets you skip morph ball bombs, but once you grab a certain item you'll need on that path Torizo won't have the bombs any more).
Hm, the Intro theme just doesn't feel like it fits that area to me. Mostly because it's daylight I guess and not spooky enough. And I still feel like I want to walk through the dirt portions of the level  laugh new

I'll be using custom music of course, I just haven't got that done yet. And you're just gonna have to deal with the dirt. :P
. . .
You can't really tell from the bad resulution...

But you colored the FX Spores white for snow!

Love'n every minute of it!

Edit: you should probably add the second video to your first post so more people will notice it!

I've said it before in IRC and I'll say it again here, that video is frickin sweet. My only small tiny wee bit thing with that video is that the area seems a bit too bright, but of course there's a reason for that...just me being nitpicky.

You just have to adjust your monitor settings.

And if you have to mockball to get items, I'm not going for a full-item play.

So far there's nowhere to mockball. There's a place you'll think you should mockball, and mockball would work, but the solution is much simpler...
All aboard the soul train
Is there mockball to sequence brake? Like with the Spore Spawn?

Edit: Sequence BREAK.

It's tough to SB because the paths are semi-intended. There's a clear and obvious main path and that's what I'm building the hack around... then there's two alternate paths (early speed booster or late morph-ball bombs) that are well-hidden means of playing a different style. The video shows the entrance to the early SB path, which is particularly nightmarish, since most enemies there will probably kill Samus in one-two hits at that point in the game. I have done it on PSP though, so it's not (necessarily) save-state demanding.

But to answer the question, there aren't any mockball paths so far. I guess I could put one in as an alternate route in Subverda though. Might be a good idea, actually.

:(

I just hope walljumps and such were not butchered.  The altered physics was a real let down for me on Redesign.

Maybe, once you get the gravity suit, the old physics are restored?  Just a thought :P

Walljump's totally normal, watch the video. It'll help getting some early upgrades too.
Well in that case, I guess i'll just have to adapt to the new physics.  SM is a bit floaty, anyhow.  Rolling Eyes

It's a very minor change. I forgot I'd even made it until you all pointed it out. Don't worry. If it's not well-recieved I can always set it back to normal... it was just a -bit- high as-is for an area later on.
. . .
Already 10 pages....

On topic, The physics of Redesign were alittle hard to get used to, but Aegis doesn't take it quite so far, so it should be ok!

And yet thats what makes SM so great!  Good old floaty physics.... good times....

Agreed!  :P

Also, I don't think it was really the gravity that bothered me in Redesign, but the fact that wall jumps would push you really far away from the wall.
Almost happy
Looking really great so far :P

I just hope I don't get lost, usually when I play hacks that are made to fit all kinds of players and not just ultra hardcore ones I tend to get out of order really quick, especially considering that I often try crazy things in frame advance if they seem even marginally possible. And when you get out of order you usually tend to get really lost...
Well, most hacks probably wouldn't require frame advance.  So keeping that in mind, you probably wouldn't get stuck.  Although it is possible to pull off some pretty crazy tricks with just slowdown.

Slowdown, huh? I only use slowdown to walljump because my keyboard tends to be a bitch when I'm doing that on normal speed.

One of the cool things about this level design is that there's not really a real "lost". It all loops around and every area has one or two entrances to other areas (think Fusion's sectors). Each map room also clearly indicates boss areas, and they're generally not hard to find (no harder than Kraid or Ridley are to find in SM). I kind of got lucky in setting it up that way, really, and I'm glad I did. If you do crazy frame-advance SBing you should still be okay.

Yeah, I usually try to keep that in mind, so that when I need to do a near frame perfect short charge or any similar "impossible to do in reatlime" move I try to not do so. But then I see that around the corner lies Wavebeam and I go like WOW early wavebeam that is awesome, and then I can get to 20 areas I shouldn't and... then I stop playing because I can't find anything anymore :|

I actually don't think this is even possible in Aegis. If you see a cool upgrade, you can almost definitely get it then and there. I'm no tease. ;)
