Just got
Spring ball
Looks like I need
Wave beam
now.

Anyone mind giving a bit of a hint?

Sure!

You can get halfway to Wave Beam when you get Power Bombs; Spring Ball gets you the other half of the way.

Though from what I understand,
Wave beam isn't necessary, except for a 'side quest' you might enjoy...

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone either, so let me just say that you should absolutely not worry at all about that block: you aren't missing anything.

Thanks, Acheron!  On a semi-related note, is there any reason the Chozo statue in that picture, and several others in game, are holding these odd white circles with no shading whatsoever?  In a hack with such a consistently incredible graphical standard, they sort of stick out like a sore thumb.  I'm wondering if maybe I just didn't patch perfectly and there's supposed to be a graphic there?
Samus...? Is that you?

Head east from the ninja pirates until you get to an L-shaped room with sandfalls, and search that area.

Well, i'm in the L-shaped room, i bomb everywhere and i can't find anything.

Step 1:  Find a door you can't open.

Step 2:  Think about how to open it, using what you've got there with you in the room. :)

It take some very precise jumping, but getting around those Ki Hunters the very first time you encounter them (once you've got the charge shot) can make the rest of the early game go significantly easier. :)

God dammit...did i really just kill spore spawn AND bowtoon...with only 3 E-tanks
Just to get one more??!!
I wanna quit -_-

I'd love to see a TAS of this. Keeping your runspeed after jumps, combined with being able to jump through anything so long as you're above water, should make for some very impressive speed.

I'm actually doing a tool-assisted walkthrough, and I'm at Space Jump atm. This reminds me, is Spring Ball even needed for this hack, since it only gives you Chozen Armor;
I found another Sequence Break which allows you to get Wave Beam without Spring Ball.

Lol, did you miss the
10 super missiles?

Fail xD
To be fair, I missed them the first time I went through there, but then I went "Wait, there's no way that that's all I'm getting. I must've missed something."

In general, Eris is good about giving appropriate rewards for your effort, but it's not above throwing an obvious cheap reward at you to make you miss the much better one that's also hidden nearby.

Sturmvogel: spend a little time thinking about the room and where things could be hidden, and you should be able to find the secret.

Finished my second playthrough... 97%, 2:43. There's one e-tank I just can't find, and probably a missile or super pack as well.

Quote from Kriole:
is Spring Ball even needed for this hack

IIRC, I only needed it in two places:
1:
-the northwest ruins in the same room as the space-jump-required artifact, which leads to Draygon and Chozen Armor; the water-filled pillars at the bottom are two-tile, so you can't bomb jump 'em.

2:
-getting wave beam in the northeast snowy area.

I think you can skip the item in 1 completely. You say you've already gotten
wave beam
but I don't even know if that's required, since the only place I remember needing it was to get to Draygon. Maybe I'm forgetting something.

3 e-tanks is actually a lot for that point in the game... some people have fought him without any, though if you have
Evasion
it's not nearly as hard.

Anyway, you get more out of it than just an e-tank. You get quite a bit more.
Look around past Botwoon.

Wow this was an epic hack, anyway i got this on my first run through, though i spent most of my time looping the whole place  laugh new

A very hard hack, and i died more times than i can remember, but it was one of the best i have ever played, ill miss you DMan.

what side quest?  the suit?

anyway, beat it late last night, 6:56/88%.  the scenery is great throughout, but gets amazing after you find

all the artifacts.

the whole thing is just a lot of fun overall, and the design does an incredible job of setting the mood.

just as an aside, anyone who uses the patch to fix the escape, you can just apply it over your original eris patch, no need to use a new rom.
Gah!!! im having alot of trouble D;. i cant play because everytime i patch it, it gets to the Super metroid thingy then it stops working
and i cant do anything D;. Anyone help me please?
What'd you say?

The file size of the IPS patch is only ~50% of what it's supposed to be (640 Kb).
Just keep redownloading the patch. I did it about 5 times, and just when i was going to give up:
success  Very Happy. So, just keep redownloading the patch.
Excellent hack. I like the beautiful level design and the colour changes (especialy in the ice areas). Been playing it for a while now, but can't figure where to go next.

I got:
14 Missiles
2 Etanks
Morph Ball
Bombs
Evasion

Was pretty much everywhere I could get to, but always got blocked by either Super Missile doors, PB- and grapple blocks, or that weird rock in the Brinstar area. I noticed that Charge Beam and Grapple should come before Supers, but couldn't find neither one yet, despite a lot of exploration.

Could anybody point me in the right direction?
Saturn:

There's a little morph ball path in the left wall of the Ceres room left of the landing site.
Almost happy
Where should I go after finding Grapple Beam?

It feels as though I have searched everywhere, but I've only found a lot of dead ends, the hack is quite evil in that sense, as it often lets you go very far into some new area before being stopped...
Go ahead. Stare.
Cpadolf

You should be getting Charge beam soon, and then take a look around where you first got Missiles.

Ok, i need to ask a serious question. IS GOLD TORIZO INDESTRUCTIBLE? (Disturbed plays in the background)
Do i really need to waste any more of my time fighting that thing or can i skip it and still complete the game?
It took me like an hour to kill him.  I basically had to jump down from the top of the room, fire a charged shot, and jump back up, then create a save state.  If I got hit, then I had to reload the save state.  It was extremely boring, but it was the only way I could kill him since basically one touch and your toast.

there's a point at the very left side of the room that you can just stand in front of him and charge and fire and he won't ever hit you.  he'll just jump up and down and do something else that won't hurt you.  play around with it until you find it.  it's how i beat him and was super simple.  i found it somewhat by accident.

I'm going to make a short "progress list" post here so that people can refer to it when stuck. This should alleviate the "help me!" messages. Please only use this if you simply can't bring yourself to explore any more.

I don't want to give away the progression of items. Considering the linearity of this hack, I think I can avoid that problem. I'm going to write this in list form: start from the top, check the spoiler, and see what item comes first, then go down the list until you find the last item you got.

Unless you don't care, in which case, just click away, I guess.

Eris Item Progression Mini-Walkthrough Guide

-Get morph ball first. You shouldn't go swimming without it... except maybe in a pool where you walk on water.

-Now's not a bad time to get missiles. They aren't very far from where you are--check the room with the fallen soldier.

-If I were you, I'd be jonesin' for some bombs about now. There's an area above and to the left of your ship with a tileset similar to Draygon's room from SM; remember this place, which I call the junction, because you'll come back a lot. For your first trip, head all the way through it to the last door, then take the portal-like exit to a new, purple-ish area full of mushrooms and chozo statues. Explore around the Chozo kitchen and you'll find your bombs.

-Well, you need to get grapple, sure, but I would consider another trip up to the junction I just told you to remember. There's a very helpful item that you'll want to get up there; explore the room, and look for a hidden morph path.

-Grapple? Just head back to the main ship area and look for a morph ball passage between the upper and lower left-hand doors. It'll get you on your way to another underwater area that you should have little trouble exploring.

-You should have morph, bombs, grapple, some missiles, and evasion from the junction. Now you can head up to get charge, which is required to move on. Have you considered a trip back to your ship?

-Well, now that you've got charge, you'll want to go back to the elevator near where you got morph ball. Use your ability to break bomb blocks to get rid of an eyesore in the way, and your charge beam to remove a bouldery obstruction, and enjoy what lies ahead. You'll find a helpful item... ten of them, actually.

-Aren't you tired of all those speed booster blocks? Head back to the junction (where you got evasion) northwest of your ship; this time, take a trek out the upper-left-hand door, not the lower left one. You'll find some white, pirate-infested ruins... check for a very obvious super missile door in a room with giant Ridley-statue heads. That'll lead to something fast.

-Speed booster will open up a new path near where you got bombs. Look for a room with a large tide that has some speed booster blocks in the way, and follow that path all the way through.

-Power Bombs definitely open a lot of doors, and you'll need them to get moving forward. You have a couple of items you can get, but I'd grab ice beam first: it's very, very close to grapple beam's location.

-Cold enough to freeze metroids, even. Try getting rid of the plethora of all the strange purple ones that have made a home in the area east of where you got your ten-pack of supers. It's a big room, so be sure to kill them all, then check the upper-right door for a new way out.

-Heading out the west door after getting the high-jump boots will lead to a new area. Be sure to explore it and try find a couple of power bomb packs. Once your max capacity is five or six, you should be good to go. Head to the top of this snowy area, and look for a hidden passage in a wall that you have to drop into some sand falls to find. If you see a gray door and you've noticed bubble containers, you're in the right room. Use your power bombs to get rid of them and open that door up.

-With spring ball in hand, continue exploring to the east. Try to go as far up and to the right as you can. If you a find a room with snails and water, you're doing fine. There's two ways to get to the top of the snail room, and once you're there, use a PB to shatter the glass tube and find space jump.

-Next, get wave beam. It's conveniently located not too far from where you fought Kraid to get high jump boots... just check side passages along the same path you came through on your trip up to the snowy area you've been exploring. Specifically, look for a power bomb door one room west of the shallow lake, and follow that path through.

-Now that you have wave, go back to those white ruins to the northwest. There's a room not too far from speed booster with a hidden passage you can traverse using power bombs and spring ball. Get through those, then try to think of a clever way to use your space jump and evasion items to get through the purple thorns that block upward progress. After that, wave beam will open a path to Draygon and a suit upgrade you've probably been dying to get.

-That just about does it for item acquisition, so now you just need to hunt artifacts. A map has already been provided in the thread for that, so I'll leave it up to you to use that. Once you have four artifacts, go back to the area you got bombs, and a new path will open.

I think that covers everything mandatory. Let me know if I messed anything up, dudes and ladies.
Not that it's mandatory, but
you didn't mention where Spazer is, nor Plasma. And technically you can win the game as soon as you get Space Jump, I think; springball, wave beam, and the chozen armor are all optional. Heck, if you didn't need Space Jump to get the last artifact, you could win as soon as you get powerbombs.

I know I only listed some of the optional items. The ones I left out I figure are ones you can beat the game without finding and life goes on. The ones I included are ones I really think you should get your first playthrough. Yeah, I know I'm being choosy.
