That did the trick, thanks. I made it all the way to the end, beat MB but during the excape the game messes up...  when I head through the door that exits the thrid room, it connects me back into the previous room and tosses samus somewhere in the walls, stuck. I got so desperate I looked on SMILE and sure enough, the door blocks legitimitely connect to back there. At least on my patch... pretty weird?

Did you download your patch recently?  I remember there were major problems with the escape way back during the week of release, but DMantra fixed all that.

Try using this patch:

Alright, I'm going to beat this hack this weekend. I'm currently stuck at Ridley with these items:

The only problem is my savestate is in his room so I can't get more items, and every time he kicks my ass. Any tips for what I could do?

Beat him:

I hit him, savestate, hit him, savestate (repeated about 30 times) then just unloaded on him.  grin new

Can't you just leave the ridley room in CH ?

I don't believe so, and if so I'll feel retarded for not catching it.

Wow, X-ray was a pain in the ass. More savestate, TAS, super short charge aggravation.

In the Easy version you can but the Original, you can't.

A tip to where to go next:
Now you need to go back to Elderige (Wrecked Ship) and find a new route with the Wave Beam and collect the Gravity Suit. I strongly recommened you get the Gravity before you fight Draygon
this was a good game

Thanks SKB, I've been wandering around aimlessly collecting a few items with X-ray.  laugh new

Now this is when this hack gets fun IMO.

EDIT:Add space jump to that.  grin new

EDIT2:What map is Draygon in?

I found and killed Draygon, went through Tourain and found this
. I can't finish the game, any clue what might be causing it?

It's supposed to be that way.  Check your map screen for a message.  Look for another path within tourian.
Hey, guys. After lurking around these forums for a good six months and playing some of the hacks, I finally decided I'd register. Whoa.

So this seems kind of silly, because I normally don't have this kind of trouble.

But for the life of me, I just can't find the bombs! Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Normal version, if it makes any difference.)
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
You need to perform the infamously hard mid-air morph from wall-jump, just to the right of your ship.  Yes, it is tough.  The only tip I can offer is to wall-jump at the lowest point possible before rolling to down to morph.  Good luck.

Christ, I was hoping that, of all places, it wasn't there. ._.

Thanks for the info.

EDIT: Mid-air morphs make me happy.

How the hell do I leave the room right before the landing site during the escape? All doors are gray and I can't go anywhere.
wasn't DMatra banned? and why?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Yes, because he stepped out of line, and was abusive toward the staff.

Does anyone have an answer for me?

I'm not 100% positive, but your answer is probably one of the following:

-an evil horizontal shinespark is required, which I cannot describe because I only did it once.  ( I don't like the original version, too hard)

-you have an early patch that had a glitch in the escape which makes the game unbeatable and you need a newer patch.

Here? If so, I can't get a charge to there.

I'll download the newest patch, try it out.

EDIT:Same problem.

...This game is -evil-.
The hell run on normal mode makes me sad.
How long did you guys go before giving up and switching to easy?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
It's probably about 50/50 with those that played normal, and those that played easy.  Most people gave up on the morph you did in the landing site.  Another option is this:

Load your game, and go through a door OUT of the room you're stuck in, and save state.
Change to the Easy version of the game, and enter the relevant room.
You'll now be able to play the easy version of the room.
When you're done with the tough trick, change back to the normal version.

That way, you at least get to play 90% of the hack on normal.

If you didn't like the other tricks, this will give you an idea of what's to come:
morph into an IBJ from a grapple swing
mid-air morph, and diagonal bomb jump.  Diagonal bomb-jump can be seen here:

but you have to do it in mid-air.

Also, if you don't feel like doing the hack swap above, and are determined to continue with the normal version, you could always just slow your emulator down slightly.  50% speed is usually enough to overcome most obstacles.
I actually got to a point where that MAM-IBJ from the grapple was not terribly difficult and very fun.

btw, thanks for telling me NOW that I could have used that version switcheroo.  That MAM to get bombs in the beginning took a couple years off my life - even with slow-down.

I much prefer the easy version.  Calling it the easy version is misleading, since it is not really 'easy'.  I think the easy version should have been called the normal version and the normal version should have been called the hard version, but that's just me.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Yes, the version switcheroo works with any hack that has more than one version.  You have to save state outside the room, though, because the state records everything about the room, so it will not change until you exit and enter the room again.
couldn't you just do this?

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
No, because there is no ledge like in that room in the original.  You have to perform one or two wall-jumps on one wall, mid-air morph, then perform the DBJ to reach a ledge.

Thoughts:
This hack had a great level of detail (which IMO DMan was notorious for) although at times it would have been great to have just a little less at places. As far as traversing this world goes a few areas were annoying especially heated norfair, WS, and the left side of the landing site. I liked most of the item placements but a few things were annoying, like having to use 11 (IIRC) super missiles to get an item in the 2nd room (going left from landing site), X-ray was a pain in the ass which resulted in me having to use TAS to obtain it. Boss fights were a fun challenge although I do absolutely detest Ridley.

Scoring:
Gameplay: 7/10
Replay value: 5/10 (I'm not motivated to attempt as second playthrough as of yet.)

Overall score: 6/10

Now I just need to beat Eris, great job DMantra!
