SM: Eris (Discussion Thread)

Here's what Disenchanted wrote about it:

''At first I just liked the name 'Eris.' It seemed to fit the trend of cyborg/robot girls - Samus, Kos-mos, etc. But yes, I though the touble-making characteristics of the goddess fit the image well, and that's how I decided on Eris.''

Bizarre... attempting to stretch that .png version as my BG makes it display with inverted colors and make all my desktop icons appear to be selected. aiwebs_016

But I don't need to stretch it so...

Anyways, I'm eagerly anticipating this hack. Your skill with using SM's tilesets in new and wonderful ways never ceases to amazing me. That crazy mindscrambling corridor intrigues me...

I think it's safer to assume that most hackers here are decent enough to say if their hack had died, so we should be happy that if they're not posting here, it means they're beavering away at it. aiwebs_011

Without reading the Hacks and Fangames rules section again, I'm sure that it now says something along the lines of 'sickness is no longer a valid reason for not releasing your hack'. Razz

Regarding Eris: DMantra, what are you planning difficulty wise for 100%? Are you looking at some items being ridiculously hard to acquire (tricks and stuff), or are you looking at just making them a bit harder to find? I'd guess the latter, since you're hack's aimed at exploration...

I also noticed we haven't seen hide nor hair of Acheron in a long, long time. It is certainly a concern given that he was having mysterious health problems. Acheron, if you're out there, how about a quick post just to let us know you're OK?

Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past

There hasn't been any updates because I haven't had much to say about the progress.

I haven't made a new room in nearly a month. However, I've been renovating old rooms left right and center. It's become an obsession to perfect everything, even if it was already fine in the first place. I'd probably be done by now if it weren't for this.

Anyways I've got 147 rooms done, and it's looking to be anywhere from 5-15 left. Then there's a bit of misc stuff.

Wow, you are just about done then. Another few months won't kill us so keep reworking the rooms, though I find it hard to believe that you can improve how they looked already...

After the Cliffhanger Zebes, I narrowly escaped after I freed and saved the animals. I discovered the ship is now on autopilot. I ran some diagnostics with the ship's systems and, as suspected, found it was tampered with. I discovered I was headed for an unknown, cold planet in the far reaches of the solar system of Sol, named Eris. When I checked the ETA in the ship's computers, it says: ETA Unknown. So, I sit back and wait in great anticipation for my arrival on this mysterious planet Eris and ponder, contemplating what's in store for me there.
