I don't think that's the case at all.
No, trust me. I noticed the crystal targeted by the super missile was the only one that got destroyed.
Couldn't you just use 5 Missiles on 1 spot to take a crystal out?

Nothing seemed to do any damage aside from a super missile.
EDIT: Though you might want to check.
Ugh...now I'll have to load up my Hard Mode file because it's the quickest way to check ;_;
I think I went through that part of the fight on normal without ever going into first person. I remember using just charged shots. It did seem to take a long time though.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Me too.  I just used charged shots on the queen's crystals on my first run, so no missile is required for her fight.

let's skip Missiles then! aiwebs_011

but i really think that before we think about skip items, we find glitches to acess rooms we are not intended to acess...
we are talking about metroid here tough, the guys already have a vast knowledge on how we could find this glitches and blocked them off...
Well, I've got a lead on getting on the path towards Sector Zero over in the Sequence Breaking topic, although I wonder how many people have that topic on ignored by now since nobody's responded to me yet. At the very least, I got a rapid fire missile trick out of my attempts, so there's that.
Eh, to get to Metroid Queen, there's few Seeker Doors.
I got past the 3 seeker door without needing to use seekers using my missile trick, and as far as I know there's only 2 or 3 other seeker doors in the entire game, right? (The one to Sector Zero, and the one or two 5 seeker ones that you're talking about on the way to the Queen.) If we find a way to get past one of the 5 seeker ones, the others shouldn't be a problem since I'd assume they all work the same way.

to avoid useless effort, someone with homebrew should test what happens if you go to those areas early just to be sure.
Won't be me then, since I don't have it.

What sort of codes would be needed to verify it?
I have no idea what's possible and what isn't with this, but wouldn't something simple that allows us to walk around/through the seeker door early be enough to tell in this specific case?

Infinite Missiles and if possible 0 reload time.

Without the 0 reload time it'd just be you trying the same method.

Uchi, for all we know the DOOR is the trigger to load the following rooms and enemies.
Alright, I found a suitable code (walk through walls,  lol), and I've verified that the code works. (Cheers geckocodes.org)

I only had a save just before the metroid queen, but I backtracked to Room MW (Where the Ridley-corpse is) and walked through one of the locked red doors. The (long *sigh*) cutscene with Madeline Bergman triggered without any problems.

Now, I'll start a new file to test more, but I'd appreciate any assistance as to where in the story it would help to pass through a locked door!
Phoenix
Everywhere.
Well I can also confirm that you will not automatically have a weapon later that you never picked up. Since I bypassed MQ, I never unlocked Power Bombs, and I was unable to use them when I returned to the Bottle Ship... :P
So I did start a new game and as soon as Adam sent me to sector 1, I haxed through the PB door and carried on to sector Zero. The destruction cutscene triggered (unskippable when out of sequence it seems) and I got the gravity suit on the way back. I went back to main sector and carried on with the story from there and it doesn't seem to mind a broken storyline so far.

I'm guessing that, as long as you won't need an item later, you can sequence break and skip it and carry on with the story.

How'd you get through the gravity rooms?

EDIT: Oh wait nevermind. You mean that door that leads to the elevator that dumps you after the gravity rooms.
@Zenshin: Could you try too get whatever beam you get last first? Then try if it'd freeze stuff. (Even withoutout Ice beam)
Phoenix
Well, your last beam is Plasma, which you get at the Ridley fight, and it's already been found that if you go to his room early there's nothing there. I imagine it could be tried with Wave though. All you need to do to trigger that is grab the E-tank at the top of the avalanche hill.
