Well, I was told nobody had done this, which came as some surprise... Anyway, with the help of Nestopia and my UBER-LEET madskillz (As I think they should be referred to) on MS Paint, I have mapped some of the Secret Worlds. Peruse to your pleasure. Sorry about the rubbish names. I gave them more interesting ones but they'd probably confuse you, so I left them out. Oh, and they're all PNGs (Except for SWA-K Entrance, because it's only one room, so it's a JPG) because no image hosting site can take the strain that is 25mb worth of Secret World, and thus the image quality's not quite as good as it originally was.

SWA-R (Secret World Above Ridley) - http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/YorkshireTea/RSSMapBeta4.png

Simple, this. Simply use an infinite space jump code to go up the elevator from Norfair to Ridley and you'll arrive here. It's the biggest secret world I've found.

SWA-K (Above Kraid)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/YorkshireTea/SWA-KEntrance.jpg

That's the entrance. Again, simply go to the entrance elevator and go up. Once you're at the entrance, take the lift up to find SWR-B.

SWR-B (Right of the Brinstar elevator to Kraid)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/YorkshireTea/BRANTISPNG.png

This is essentially three floors of repeating rooms. From here, go down the elevator to find L-SWAK.

L-SWAK (Lower SWA-K)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/YorkshireTea/L-SWAKPNG.png

Rather big and confusing, this. Space jump up the elevator to find U-SWAK.

U-SWAK (Upper SWA-K)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c156/YorkshireTea/BlentCleanedUpPNG.png

The door at the bottom leads to L-SWAK's first room.

I'll add more as I finish mapping them.

Welcome to the forum.

Those are pretty nice. I can make bigger maps of some of them if you want, after I finish makeing the maps of the normal world. In fact, using MetEdit, I could extrapolate all possible secret worlds without actually exploring them.
For the love of god, use an imagehost that doesnt resize, like imageshack or xs.to, so maybe I could actually see and judge the images referenced.
Cook of the Sea
Starman, you have to expand the images in your browser; they're likely zoomed out automatically.
Well it figures the two I went to click on were the only ones that were resized and didn't have the little zoom in button.

My bad.

Imageshack is better though. I just edit the thumbnail BB code so that it links directly to the image and not a page with the image on it, like it used to be back in december of last year up to about 3 months ago.
直死の魔眼使い

That's what I was trying to say. I used the method described in the picture above for the link. 8)

You use that method if you want to keep the thumbnails, like for a screenshot.

Welcome to M2k2 :) Nice maps (even tho the first two ARE a little on the small side ;) ). I'd be VERY VERY interested in someone creating fullsize M1 SW maps for putting on SCU. (Just like the MZM screenshot maps on SCU).

Anyone here wanting to make them and contribute them to SCU for permanent archiving and showing?
Time bomb set get out fast!
Great maps, Tea.  That's some funky room placement.

Around here we call that "sabermanship."

so im a saberman because i dont have photoshop? :o

Wow. that sounds a whole lot better than "The Fusion Guy"!  Laughing
I'm an MSPaint whore too. All of those crapy pictures I post all over the forum are paint-made.

You can contribute stuff to MHQ too. We need content. :P

Problem is, the images are automatically resized by photobucket and imageshack won't take anything over 1024kb... and the smallest I can get the first file down to is 1.06. If anyone can offer ways of reducing file size, either through technical jiggery-pokery or various gubbins programs, I would be tres grateful.

Oh, and thanks for the warm welcome  :D . And exactly how many secret worlds have there been found?
Strategy Guide Writer
Well, to get around that problem, simply e-mail them to me: andrew@samus.co.uk and then when they're on SCU, there'll be no need for them to be resized. :D

As to how many, I believe using the door jump glitch, 3 SWs have been found. But I could be wrong there...
Well, I've found around 8, by either infinite space jumping up elevators or through the tops of shafts (Or alternately, rolling through the floor at the bottom of the shafts). I'm using an emulator, so I use Game Genie codes to help me out. You too can find these secret worlds with THESE shiny codes:

ALLGKP - All items and invincibility.
SSAEAI - Roll through walls and floors whilst in Morph Ball mode.
EEZTTY - Jump up through ceilings.
KAPGEI - Enhanced, infinite space jump.
GENKSYZO - Mega jump (Jump really, really high).

Here's how to get to them...

SWA-R
From the Ridley Elevator room, SJ up the elevator to reach a clone room of Ridley's boss room. Happy hunting.

SWA-K Entrance
From the Kraid Elevator room, SJ up the elevator. This a one-room loop that curves back on itself.

SWR-B
From SWA-K Entrance, take the lift and go right. You can also achieve this effect by simply going to the Brinstar elevator room to Kraid and rolling right through the wall.

L-SWAK
From SWA-K Entrance, take the lift up to SWR-B and then take it back down again to reach here. This is a Norfair-themed area.

Upper L-SWAK
From L-SWAK Elevator room, SJ up the elevator.

There are three more I can remember right now, but I should probably post the maps of them or email them to you beforehand. I'll email them later, as right now I'm on a Mac, and they're on my PC.

Long live Mac.

The problem is, is that the SW's need to be accessable without any cheat devices, otherwise there'd be a SW in almost every room in MP1 and MP2 (thanks to Moonjump code with an AR).

So I can - really - only document the SWs found without cheat devices on SCU...
...Ah. There you have me.

Actually, if you use the door cheat in the elevator rooms, then you should be able to reach the secret worlds accessed through SJing up the elevator...
Nope. The elevator shafts are completely blank. There's nothing to morph-jump through.

I made a picture to show the known SWs. The ones circled in white are accessible through the door jump. The ones in red should be, but for some reason the Norfair ceilings you have to pass through are the ones with the horizontal secret passages, so you get stuck and can't continue.

I would use MetEdit to map all the secret worlds if it weren't for the fact that it would take time. Go go gadget lazy!
That's actually what I was going to do eventually, pending other crap/laziness.
Actually, you can reach the secret world above Ridley that I got to by SJing up the elevator by going to that white circle to the left of the Ridley red circle and going up. That's the same secret world... I think.

And as for that one in Norfair, I've managed to get up to that secret world by going to the leftmost shaft and using the jump through ceilings/infinite space jump code, so you should be able to use the door jump cheat.
The secret world is Norfair with the Ridley tiles and maps, so it is likely you can get there anyway. Actually, now that I think about it, the Norfair screen with the passage wouldn't be there, so it doesn't matter.

Also, using jump through walls and space jump codes don't count. The reason door jump won't work is because the ceiling at those spots has hidden passages in it, that is the blocks are not solid and can be passed through. This is bad, because you can't morph-jump through the nonsolid blocks, so you get stuck.

I finished the maps of secret worlds that can be reached without cheats. Tell me if you find any areas not mapped.
You could post all maps of all known secret worlds and simply divide them into two types: Ones that can be reached without cheats, and ones which cannot. Just a thought.

Oh, and nice job on the maps!
I was going to do that eventually, by using MetEdit to map out all possible SWs.
Those are some nice maps you got there!  I can't believe I just found this topic (actually wanted to do this myself as well).  *sniff* It brings back memories of SW hunting and exploring long ago.  Yay that you know that the Door Jump can be used to bo both up and down. :)

If I could make some suggestions...  Some rooms scroll vertically or horizontally, and are safe to travel, but if you go the wrong way you could end up in a wall.  Would it be a pain to document which screen edges were safe, and which were hazards?  (Although this is mostly obvious if you are in the room and have a map like this at hand.)  Also, could the the areas be sectioned off (possibly on a second, mini map) showing where the primary, secondary, etc secret worlds are and their entrances (from the main game and within SWs)?  Just thinking about complete documentation of these areas. :)

If one were to to set the tileset for all of the map to one region (say Norfair), and do so for all, then one would have a complete set of maps of all possible SWs.  (Of course screen-shot-maps look like they take a lot of time to make, so don't worry about it.)  Having such images might inspire people to try to get further (or ruin the element of discovery).

Glitches or no (most likely with glitches), a whole bunch of M1 (and M2) SW's are documented in The Great Secret World Hunt on MdB (as many people already know).  Far more GG and Nesticle codes than listed by Yorkshire Tea.  Did you even think to try the elevator jump in Tourain?

Exploring M1's SWs on console is really great (especially when making your own maps).  Since you have to start all over again if you wind up in a wall or freeze the console, exploring SWs ever deeper is a great feeling of accomplishment (especially if you got a bit of spelunker in ya :) ).  Thanks for the maps!
