I've seen what some of the improvements in the Player's Choice version are, but I'm curious about a few things in particular.  I'm wondering if it does have the following changes that the PAL version had:

1) Flaahgra's music fixed
2) can kill troopers with power bombs
3) altered Meta Ridley ground phase
4) altered cut scenes (phazon suit, grapple beam, etc)
5) changed animations (ice beam, etc)
6) altered enemy locations (ice shriekbats no longer disappear, no hunter metroid in ice cave, fusion metroids sooner, etc)
7) Bendezium in places where it wasn't in the NA version, to keep you from sequence breaking

Has anyone played the Player's Choice version enough to know this?  I read a guide of differences between the PC version and the regular NA version, but it didn't elaborate on enough details.  I'm considering picking up a copy of the PC version for the new data loader alone, as that prevents freezes.  I've learned to avoid freezes by slowing down and being more careful, but it's still annoying.

there is no known link between the speed at which you go through the game and the frequency of crashes. a psychological phenomenon called 'the placebo effect' is causing you to believe that you have prevented crashes, but in fact the crashes affect radix, one of the fastest players in the world, exactly the same amount as they affect you.

hope that helps.
look,is there any difference between the normal PAL and the players choice PAL?cause i have the pc PAL O-o;;

Exactly what is that?
The only place I've ever experienced crashes was in the first elevator going to the Chozo ruins.  If you run onto the elevator too fast without giving the game a chance to "catch up" so to speak, it'll freeze at the top.  I've been able to get to freeze, or not, at will at that particular point.  I haven't had any crash problems elsewhere.  I wonder if it might be worth it to get a copy of the PAL version for the extra stuff (though I don't care for the narrator at all).

It's a bug that sometimes causes him to be invunerable when he's stunned. It doesn't happen in the PAL version, though.
How difficult is it to play the PAL version on an NTSC console?  I'm assuming that it's just a matter of getting that Freeloader disk.  Something similar to that was all it took for me to run the PAL version of Shenmue II on my Dreamcast.  Also, does anyone know any good places to find the PAL version?  I only know of Japanese import sites...although I guess the Japanese version has the same improvements the PAL version had.

not that we know.

Yeah, the Japanese and PAL versions are the same in that respect. I'm not sure how easy it is to play different region games on a Gamecube, though. I guess it's possible, but I'm not sure how.
First, why is everyone talking bout "improvements"???

I think same as playing NTSC on a PAL Console, i got the Freeloader, but i dont know if there is one the other way around?!
(has nate a PAL Console?, if not ask him)
i just use action replay (with freeloader) to play the pal version of metroid prime on my us gamecube. plays with ntsc video and everything.
Sounds good...any idea where to actually find the PAL version?  I have several videogame import sites bookmarked...I did a LOT of importing back in the Saturn days.  However, all the import sites I know only have Japanese imports.  Know of any good PAL import sites?
