I don't know: I'm more looking to see what the game looks like at this point, and if we get a decent preview this time around. I'm more interested in the potential story (GASP: Story in a Metroid game???) of Prime 3 and if they showcase any new abilities.
Either way, we only have to wait another 16 or so hours...
i like how you will be able to shoot anywhere on the screen that you want. That's what is going to make Nintendo's console a heaven for FPSs. You can shoot anything that is on the screen, plus you can move around at the same time. With proper use, you could aim guns in two different directions, and shoot two people at once. Go westerns.
Kridly's idea was smart. You will be able to aim the grapple beam at a node and take off while shooting at someone else. It will take getting used to, but I think that nintendo is actually thinking this time around.
I managed to find the video of MP3 from E3 2005: Noticed that Samus's gunship sort of opened up and fired a bunch of missiles at the screen before the big 3 showed up. Interesting...
Anyway, less than 30 min to the start of the conference now
So, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption? Nice name. Short and memorable, fitting in with the phazon storyline. And, along with "ball move" and "beam shoot", I suggest a text box (inspired by Super Mario Sunshine) saying "ITEM GET!" whenever Samus acquires an upgrade, followed by Samus doing a snazzy little dance spin move and giving you a thumbs-up. ... Can't wait to see some of the E3 footage. And, apparently Ridley is back. AGAIN.
Unfortunately, the Gamespot video cut out on me with about 10-15 min left in the conference apparently. (Right before the contest winner was announced) I did manage to see the Metroid+Zelda footage though.
I like the name as well. Too bad we didn't get to see much of the game yet though. (Where was Ridley shown? I never saw him) I did like the fact that the Grapple Beam seems to have more of an importance this time around. (Looked like it will do what I wanted by grappling onto enemies too :D)
I do have one important question though: They said that the Wii will always be connected to the internet so you can get updates. Does this mean that it has the potential to fix some of the things we may find eventually? (The smaller glitches/SBs in particular)
Edit:
Quote from Kridly:
Maybe you could dual-wield weapons. Controlling one with the sensor, and the other with an analog stick.
Apparently, that's what it looks to be for the Grapple Beam.
Edit 2:
Quote from Gamespot:
The Galactic Federation's Base Sector Zero is under attack by Space Pirates. Samus must boot up the generator to restore the defense systems. But at the end of her path, someone awful is waiting for her.
If you think you knew what it felt like to be the bounty hunter behind the visor, think again. Take aim at evil with Nintendo’s revolutionary controller.
Features
* Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the pointer, allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced. Through the eyes of Samus, players experience a quantum leap in first-person control as they wield the Wii Remote, the ultimate device for the first-person shooter genre. * Samus will employ well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as a bunch of new surprises, to help her survive her coming trials.
They also have an early look at the playable demo too, so if I find out anything else I'll add it.
Edit 3: Not much new from their hands on of the demo: It lists the button setup, as well as that when Samus first lands she gets a briefing from some troopers about the situation.
Watching the videos again (Gamespot put the two Wii trailers up already) I noticed that the Screw Attack is back as well, and it appears to be just like it was in Echoes. (As in a straight line) Still haven't really seen Ridley yet, but I did see what could be him. Will have to download the video later to get a closer look at it.

loving how gamespot decided to use a prime 1 alpha shot of samus for the page header. like there haven't been five gazillion more recent pics of samus, some of which actually bear a passing resemblence to what she is supposed to look like now.
Found a link that shows the possible logo design and a small bit of info on the game: http://wii.nintendo.com/games_metroid.html Proves that Dark Samus is back (Like we didn't know this already) I am loving that logo too. :D
For those of you who didn't see the conference yet, here's a link to the Corruption section: (It's the top video if you can't tell: Can't download it yet to make it look any bigger or clearer) http://www.gamespot.com/wii/action/metroidprime3/media.html
Now that you mention it, I think I have to agree with you. However, if they do keep it beyond Corruption, how do you explain the fact that in Fusion Samus has the purple one? At least the rest of the time it is relatively similar (Cause the one from ZM is destroyed) to what it appears like in ROS and Super.
I don't know: Samus's ship design is not too important to the overall storyline, so if they do keep this one I will be happy.
On a side note, I noticed a small word choice on that info page I linked to before:
Quote from The Info Page:
Saving the planets from Corruption isn't enough, though.
Planets? Is this also going to have Samus jump from one place to another?

I meant that I hope they keep it that way for MP3 only. Don't really care beyond that.

I highly doubt it. They've done the split planet thing in Echoes and the multiplanet thing in Hunters: it's time for a more "normal" Metroid.
