Prime 3 E3 Speculation

I hope so too. I was just wondering if you guys think it could be a possibility.

I have a feeling that the ship will probably be staying that way for the final game: That was its appearance was last year, so they seem to like it too. It seems more like what Samus, being a Bounty Hunter, should have. (Plus, as I noticed in the 2005 clip, it seems to have a weapon system: Something we haven't seen on ANY of Samus's other ships as far as I know.)

From everything I've seen or heard so far about Corruption (Which is not much) I am liking the way things appear to be going so far. Hopefully we'll get some more information before E3 is over. (It hasn't really begun yet either and we have all of this new info already)

Edit: Can you tell I'm slightly excited about Corruption? 5 posts about it in about 2 hours... Wink

I'm just happy it has a short, simple title that actually sounds decent. I hate it when short series titles have retardedly long subtitles, like "Stones 7: The Fall Of Crimson Blood's Great Kingdom Of Mana"

Me so happy! :D I think the title "Corruption" indicates for a whole new story. Not just a new story, but really a new story/plot. Did anyone notice that red laser from Samus? Possibly a Grapple Beam upgrade? Whats this "Ball move" thingy? Some inside joke? Embarassed

The two-handed control scheme looks simply amazing. Firing a Grapple while shooting your Cannon in a completely opposite direction? Stuff like that makes me eager for all Wii games, not just Corruption.

(if you read carefully the healthbar in the press conference video, you can see that it says "Ridley" above the healthbar)

it looks like its just ridley this time. no "Meta" or "Phazon".

At least I'm not the only one who really likes it. :D

Edit: Here's to hoping that Corruption ends up being somewhere near the greatness of another THIRD game in the Metroid series. (I can dream, right?)

OH FLICKERBAT YES. This flickerbatting ROCKS. "Corruption"? That's just awesome. I am SO getting a Wii. Obviously this won't take place on a Phazon planet, because of the base and such, but damned if it isn't pwnage. I really hope this is a launch title, but not a rushed one. Also, Nintendo, in releasing this video, seems to be saying: "This is Samus, and she's so badass she doesn't BOTHER taking names." Wink

Now that the Corruption video is available for download, I grabbed some images from it of our favorite boss, Ridley:

I notice a few things in the pictures and the vid: See the numbers at the bottom? If you watch the video it appears that Samus and Ridley are falling down some vertical shaft. The number steadily decreases as the video continues, leading me to belive that the number corresponds to the remaining height of the shaft. Interesting concept for a boss battle if you ask me. (At least for a Metroid game)

It also seems that Samus is doing a fair amount of damage to Ridley from just her charge beam. This makes me think that this could be an early battle with him, similar to the one in Super. (Or the first two Dark Samus battles in Echoes) It may not be, but you can never tell.

Think that's more just shiny purple than anything, but maybe. I'm certainly not sick of Phazon, but it was overused in Echoes. Prime I got it just right imo - seeing/touching it for the first time made you fearful, because you didn't know much about it. In Echoes, it's just everywhere and loses that effect.

PH: wow, yeah, a shaft fight would be very neat, though it could also be some sort of timer or something.

YES! Ridley! That means that there will almost definetly be a large population of Space Pirates around! And then theres the fact that there will be RIDLEY, *victory dance*!

Of course that could be bad news for some people that just want this undead corpse of a space dragon to kick the can. Luckily I'm not one of those people, RIDLEY!

So far this game sounds awesome, you can grapple and shoot at the same time.

I like the title, but I'm not a big fan of the logo... it doesn't look very much like a Metroid Logo. Maybe it's just the text they used for "CORRUPTION" it reminds me too much of resident evil.

True. It makes me think of the Death Star trench run from Star Wars actually, which is why I thought it was a distance counter. It could go either way, but it just means that the battle can't last forever.

Though I think it looks decent, I agree with you in that respect. It's because the planet in the background doesn't have the normal "metallic" look of the previous logos. The effect on the text also looks slightly stupid, but I'm thinking Retro is going to modify it a bit more yet. We'll see.

Nah, in Dark Samus battles, it covered the place. I guess it was just my reaction to Dark Samus herself ("what a stupid boss idea"), but seeing all that blue was just meh to me. It didn't fit in with the rest of the game, which had a cool feel going for a while. Rather than being an ominous substance, Phazon was more just thrown into the game for no reason (until it became useful in the final battle, that is, copying Prime I exactly). I realise that Phazon was also thrown into Prime I for seemingly no reason, but it worked in that game: there's a strange substance on the planet; let's get rid of it. Dragging it out into another game got boring.

the mp3 logo resembles the MZM logo in the font.

this might be off topic but i belive most people just don't like echoes cause it basicly has too much remakes of mp...like thoese she goth things....that got boring...and the dark world stuff iss just a bit dul.....cause of empty ness...though i like how shit pops out no where sometimes...that what i think anyway...

The excitement is palpable. I am palping the excitement. This game is gonna be awesome. (I'm still hoping for a 2D Metroid announcement at E3, though.)
