Idon,t know how hard geo gore trick are, but my opinion hardest trick in 3d metroid history is sunchamber secret world. Bomb jump not causing problem, but last un-morph in ledge is EXTREME HARD TRICK. I don,t never beat 22-23% game because this trick is impossible by me.
Anywhere, everywhere
Sunchamber secret world is quite simple and I do it differently than the site says to do it. First, you must do the "genius" Flaahgra strat to leave the mirrors up after the battle. Then when the zomg flaahgra died cutscene ends, go a little to the right. Do a L lock spring space jump onto the flower and then carefully jump onto the bottom of the lens. From there, just jump to the top and then go through the hole and you're in the secret world. In this secret world you can perform the crazy Floaty Jump.

i was bored like mad yesterday and decided to play mp1 any% and came up with this time:

2:57 56%

subbed 3 hours woo! i still pick up too many items. next time i'll get like 10% less items and will aim for sub 2:30.

interesting things in the run include the OP quick kill with super missiles and i beated flaahgra with the cheap strat for the first time.

heh i murdered my old time.

2:21 51%

i still picked up a lot of things but this time i ran out of missiles vs prime. cheap Flaahgra strat again but the OP battle was slower. i also messed the PB on Thardus at the end of the fight.
this is the first time i tried hard for the speed. i died a few times but i got lazy towards the end.

next goal is sub 2 hour. now is when things get interesting.
Congrats PiccoloCube!  Keep it up.

You might be surprised at what tricks you can accomplish with just a little practice.

Good luck at improving your time!

I had the worst boss battle ever on the easiest boss battle ever : the incinerator drone...  Laughing  Embarassed

I lost about 20secs during the battle, I don't really know how I lost so much time, I think that I missed the red thing on the incinerator drone with missiles 4 times in a row and I ran out of missiles. I haven't grabbed charge beam yet, so I had to kill stupid bees.

I'm sure that my first battle ever against this stupid boss was faster than this one.
I have NO good any % runs.  Once I knew where everything was I couldn't bring myself to not do 100% (unless it's low%).  I only get the Space Jump First no other sequence Breaks (I'm working on a better one though)

Normal 100% : 3:15
Hard 100% : 3:25

They suck but there you have it!  :P
This is my first post here, but I have an account at Samus.co.uk so I know a little bit of what's going on!  Maybe...  Laughing

I was getting bored with Hunters single player so I popped in Prime 1 and it's great to be back! :D A while back I had started a run, a very difficult run. Back when Monster eas just starting his run, I decided to start a unique run of my own... an all uncharged power beam game. Shocked  The rules, I had to use uncharged power beam shots on EVERY SINGLE ENEMY IN THE GAME!!! Except for of course Sheegoth and Prime. I skipped the wave pirate battle by fighting Thardus (with only power beam and no thermal I might add!). I also used as little colored doors as possible. Well, I finally finished it today and I must say, FLICKERBAT YOU OMEGA PIRATE!! Gah, he suxxors! Evil rant to destroy OP aside, I'm really happy I was able to complete this.

I got a time of 2:19 with 49%. Now I'm gonna go back to my regular speed running self. Now it's gonna feel so weird killing enemies instantly with the plasma beam after it took forever with power. :P

Those are great times Periodico.  When I first started speed running Prime, I was also getting low 3:XX times.  And just like you, I loved 100% games.  I think you would be surprised at how low you can drop your times with just a little practice.

I just played Prime recently, the first time since my record speed run, and I finished with a 1:48 (single segment).  Not bad if I don’t say so myself, especially considering it has been a while.  Though I guess it is sort of like ridding a bike.
hey i'm saved in my Hard 100% run in phazon mines central dynamo on the way to omega pirate right before the early newborn with 88% in 1:14.
and i wanted to ask:

are you sure that early newborn is impossible on hard-mode?

i know i'm making very few process in my runs  Embarassed  but that's just because i'm not working non-stop on it. i make a lot of huge breaks and also play through other games and am also lazy
currently, i'm saved in phazon mines with 76% at 3:06...pretty good, i guess. Laughing

Your at phazon mines with 1:14 on the clock. That makes me very disappointed in myself. I started to run hard mode 100% not very long ago and now i think i will wait to watch your run.

whoa. Shocked  my best was a little over 9 minutes. congrats.

yes 1:14. pirate109's time in his PAL 100% 1:30 was 1:14 too at that point. same like me. and sparky's time in his one 1:28 was 1:12 at that point, so 2 minutes faster than me and pirate. but i think i will lose maybe 1 or 2 more minutes because i think won't be able to do early newborn on hard mode. :(

don't be disappointed on yourself though since you don't play prime very long as you said. i've been playing metroid prime since 2004. you just need more practice that's all and maybe you should watch the runs of all the players of metroid prime. that could help you to get better on your own game.

The reason i said i was disapointed in myself was because i was hoping to have a record that doesn't get broken in a week. After reading what your time right there was i played to that point and i was at 1:33 with 88%. I am not real bad at the game but there are still a lot of things i need to work on.
well sorry for you :(. i had no idea there is someone else working on a hard mode 100% run beside me. i had no idea you've been working on it.

you said you are saved in phazon mines with 88% in 1:33 right?
hmm... you know what? if you really wish to hold the world record for more than 1 week then just go on from your save at 1:33. go on and finish that run. i'm sure your run will be definitely sub 2:00. go on and do the first recorded hard 100% run. don't wait for me since i still need some time to finish my hard 100% run. maybe at least 1 month or more because first i must improve my single-segment 100% 1:36 world record.

Sub 2 hours was my original goal but now i know it is possible to keep up with the normal run so i am going to start over and put a lot more effort into it. I am getting pretty good at the single segment 100% too. I just got a 1:43. Maybe in a month or two i will be able to neck and neck with your 1:36. My biggest problem area is the thardus dash. You made it look so easy in your run.

Hey zoid i just looked at the forum at speed demos archive for like the first time ever and noticed that you were talking to my little brother. He will probably freak out when he finds out that i am running this game. He has been practicing for weeks and brags everytime he improves his time. I watched him a couple of times and he is not very good but i don't let him know that.
Anyways i started my game over and already improved my time getting out of the frigate so if i have a month to finish i should be able to get my time in the upper 1:40s instead of barely breaking two hours. I just got a 1:40 single segment normal 100% today too. I have finals next week so i won't be playing for a while.
You had a very good question too. Is it possible to get early newborn on hard without the phazon suit? I have come somewhat close but never close enough to make me think it is possible.
Mister ...
13 hours, and 18 minutes.

63% on normal.

I know it's not that great of a time, but it's my first time playing the game.  Now I get to go for Echoes.  Fun.  Like Prime 1's setup better though.

Also, isn't there a Video in Prime 1 where you get to see Dark Samus being born?

any 100% speed run at SDA has the Dark Samus/MP cutscene at the end.
yeah craztad, same like me.
i barely have time to work on my speedruns in metroid prime because i have a fulltime job. i work 9-10 hours every day. so my only chance to work on my runs is in the mornings and in the evenings. yeah i am not very old. i am just 21. but still i work fulltime because i have to pay for my apartment. :)

i really wonder why i get so much competition on my single-segment 100% run. first ding chavez and now you. i mean there are a lot of other prime runners. im not the only one. i just had to defend my ss 100% record from ding chavez. maybe you should try another run type. a new run type like single-segment hard any% or single-segment hard 100%. imo it's not worth doing this run.

Just finished my 100% item natural route run (strictly NO sequence breaks of ANY kind, and all puzzles & items are performed/collected in the way Retro intended us to) with a finishing time of:

8-)

Recorded in 16 segments, and it'll be online within the next week or so
Wow. Nice run, Millzy! For me, getting 100% the right way takes like 4:30 or so.
lol ... the right way.
