Sadly I can't 'cause I only have one input/output jack in my TV.
yeah, i noticed the audio problem too.

also, maybe you could have dashed off of the pirate at the first morph ball slot around 3:15?
should follow the pal run as closely as possible for the first few segments as i would assume they play exacly the same. other than that i'd say just keep going, it's nice to see so many people running the game.

so you're recording this run via the out on your tv?
Yeah I used a Dazzle to record this.
red chamber dream
so you hooked dazzle up to your tv rather than to your gamecube/wii?
Well the Dazzle uses it's own set of cables so that it can reach the TV, and the computer at the same time.
Well I decided to take your guys' advice, and plugged the red cable directly into the Dazzle, and decided to re-do the first segment. (and surprisingly I shaved off a minute!)

I will upload it when I get the chance.
red chamber dream
awesome. did that fix the sound problem?

Yeah from what I've tested.
uploading the video right now actually, so you'll see for yourself.

Edit: here's the video.

as always please provide feedback.

one suggestion: unless the pc version is different, the cutscene skip at 1:45 doesn't save time: it's better to let it play out because it warps you closer to the hologram.
Really? from what I've seen there's no difference time wise, unless it's only about a fraction of a second - 1 second.
red chamber dream
well once you finished scanning the point in your vid you had to walk forward a ways into the hologram. when you let the scene play out, you barely have to move at all. so it's definitely faster, and since it's easier to just let the scene play, why not do it?
Segment 2:

Segment 3:

Again please give feedback on where I could improve some.
what was with the quality at the end?

otherwise, everything looks good.
Huh? whadda mean?

not sure why you wasted time skipping the cutscene in ruined shrine. cutscenes don't add to the game time, so it's fine to let them play out.

did you even bother watching? watch the last few seconds of the video.
If you mean the unexplained slow-down then I have no clue what happened.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
That is true tbob style play.
I'm proud of you.
Heh thanks a lot.

And I didn't know that the cutscenes don't add to the time 'cause I've always been going by the fact that they do add to time.
red chamber dream
never to late to change that. :P

I'll apologize in advance for sounding rude, but I believe in being brutally honest so you get a chance to improve, especially since you're hoping to get a run up on SDA, and to be brutally honest, this run is very bad. Even given the PC version's disadvantages. Generally slow movement, tons of mistakes everywhere, unnecessary dashes, botched dashes, a lack of understanding of how the game works (eg the cutscene thing) among other things. You're going up against incredibly well done highly optimized runs, you need to be willing to invest a lot of time into planning before you start running anything, then running and rerunning segments until everything goes perfectly. Off the top of my head- The dash off the pirate in the third room in segment 1 was unnecessary, you skipped a speed trick that saves a lot of time, you wasted a lot of time killing turrets for no reason, you stood there doing nothing for a few seconds after SJF, you got an early energy tank for no reason in Main Plaza, you skipped the cutscene in Ruined Shrine for no reason (as ark pointed out already), you fell in the water in Gathering Hall, you made a lot of mistakes in Watery Hall and you saved before bombs which costs a lot of time because the save station is fairly out of the way and you miss out on the fastest way up Gathering Hall by saving then. On top of that there's tons of other mistakes throughout.

I'm sorry again, but if you want a run up on SDA you need to do a lot better than this.
Hm when you put it that way I see what you mean.

Alright I guess I'll have to re-do it again, and this time I'll take your words of wisdom into account Paraxade.
hehe, glad to hear you didn't take my post the wrong way. :P

I could list a lot of things you could do better if you want but from your earlier posts it sounds like you know there's a lot of mistakes already, so I don't want to just point out a ton of stuff you already know.
