Um how is the R-dash in Metroid Prime when from the description that I saw it's in MP2?

Please answer that for me.
it's in metroid prime. basically, you dash normally, except you hold down l the whole time and you press and hold r right after you dash.
Ah okay.

But I don't see how that'd work in the PC version unless you use the Seedling or Beetle.

And how does it affect the dash anyway? I'm starting to get curious.
try it out. it's similar to the "normal" dash, but it sorta pushes you back a bit. the best way to find out is to experiment.

Alright I will try it out.

Back on topic I still can't get the bomb jump down, or the L-jump method either.

And Baby Sheegoth hasn't been on MSN so I might need help from someone else.

I might record a video of me trying out both methods, and you guys can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Edit: the videos are in the bottom post.

Bomb Jumping method

L-Jump Method
why not do this http://www.youtube.com/user/MisterShinChan#p/u/77/LbCCPlwDgNI
R-Jump huh? didn't know that was another method.

I will try it out, and hope that it's easier.
MisterShinChan is a master of this type of jumps. They are very hard, I can´t do it...
But if you want to arrive this place,l you can do it:

Sorry for the quality.
I thank you for the video, but could you please record a video of the timing of the buttons? (i.e record the controller as you do the SB)

If so then that'd help me out a lot.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Quote from the fucking site you're on:
Be sure to lay the third bomb in the Double Bomb Jump after you have begun descending from the first Bomb's explosion.
I think unmorphing later than usual helps a lot from what i remember.

I think that with the tomatobob´s explanation you can already know how to do it, no? Wink

But...one question: Have you already talked in the forum of speeddemosarchive if they accept your run?

Yes I can do it now thanks to T3.

And yes I've already posted a thread on SDA talking about my run, and some actually told me to track a 0-00 version, and run that, which I won't do.

Anyway I've finally gotten the DBJ method down so back to recording my run!

btw is there another method to getting to the Ice Beam door in MQ if all the Metroids died? 'cause I'm going to get the Spider Ball after I get the Phazon Suit, but I'm finding this to be a little harder.
There is a hidden ledge above the spider ball track but that may only be in the pal version. Using a metroid to dash is far easier anyway.
Well from the amount of mistakes that I see in each segment I can tell that the run as it is won't get approved by SDA so I guess it's back to the old drawing board.

If you guys want I can post the segments here so that you can see what I mean.

Sure? Because speeddemosarchive accept some mistakes if the run is long.

Hasn't been rejected from where? Because, it definitely was rejected by SDA as a valid category.
Ñaaa! It´s almost the same Laughing

That... makes very little sense.

For the record:

only if it is a SS. segmented runs must have each segment as best as it can be done.
red chamber dream
well ... sort of. there's mistakes in every run, including all the segmented prime runs that have ever been on sda.

i was thinking of mistakes that costed you lots of time. things like 1-2 or even 3 second losses are in any run. i got the impression that the current progress in the PC version had mistakes much bigger than that.

Segment 1:

Well here's segment 1 of my re-done speed-run (wow I rhymed!)

I just want feed-back from you guys on where I could improve as my run comes along.
btw YT killed the quality of my video sadly.
red chamber dream
i'm getting sound mostly on the left channel in that vid. if you're planning on submitting this to sda you might want to submit a quality test first and make sure the problem's been fixed.
