Nate -- would a 1:33 make the rankings? Because that's pretty much what I'm pulling off these days. I need a capture card, however.

or a vcr. and yes, that would be third place any percent behind kip's old 1:23.
That's pretty good.  The only problem with Zoidi's run (I don't know if this was mentioned earlier) is that he waits quite a while when he saves.  He could have taken off a few minutes and made it even better. :D But anyways, congrats to Zoidi!

Err, I'm pretty sure the timer's paused then.
I thought it was paused during every cut-scene. Makes sense somehow.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Time indeed does not tick down unless you're actually controling Samus. It pauses during cutscenes and saves. That long pause before selecting yes did not cost Zoidi any time.

I only thought it was cutscenes.  I thought the pause screen added time too... Rolling Eyes

Nope, time stops there too.

*Smacks Forehead* DOH! Twisted Evil
I once paused the game for like three days while I was on vacation. No, it doesn't count towards time.
That's a nice run... I might try some kind of speed run. But right now,  I'm working on Metroid Fusion 1%, damn thats hard.

Not Nightmare, I practiced on him and I can manage to beat him either by getting hit once or not at all. I know its pattern  Twisted Evil

I know he's pretty easy, but how in the heck does he have a pattern?  Well, the only pattern I know of is him going up and down when you jump. :P
His pattern is pretty simple. When he comes at you, space jump over him while your charged and when your on the other side of it, fire on its face. Keep repeating until he stops and you fire missiles at him like crazy on the latter  Twisted Evil. I can't really explain it well.

Oh, that makes it a lot simpler.  I never really pay attention to patterns. :D

I kinda made a strategy, but it sometimes didn't work...

Do the first part and blow up the orb and blah de dah.
Then climb for rungs up the wall and blow him up with missiles, the fall and run to the bottom right corner. As soon as his lower arm hits the ground, jump strait up and when you land run left, and he should go over you. Jump up to the top and he should follow you, then go to the right a bit and fall to the left. wait a bit and then jump onto the ladder wall. If done correctly he will be level and you can blast him. Then repeat...

Thanks for pointing that error out. I can't spell good. I'm not going to a super fast run or anything, I'm just happy I beat him.

I think I heard somewhere that someone played for 2 days straight and his gamecube started melting, but he played.. Exclamation

:edit: I remember that i read it somewhere on Gamefaqs  Rolling Eyes
That would explain everything.
why hasn't anybody tried a no hit run like in  the 2D metroids?
