Leftward SJF TAS. Not quite optimal yet, but I was wondering if people have any suggestions. I don't think it's faster to shoot the door before dashing, but I still haven't tested.
and btw, I vote for "Swag Sawing", or "Saw Dash".
Quote from Quietus:
Thank god we don't have a Super High Instant Turning Hop Earning Additional Distance. We'd be here all day naming that one too...
no it's not, I compared them.......... Mine was almost half a second faster, but that's not the point. I know it's not optimal, I'm wondering if people have any suggestions for the route to make it faster.
hm the jump at 0:13 can you try to land more to right and further to front? that maybe can make you aim that scan spot faster to improve it by... 0.1-0.3 seconds not sure. when you not use the R dash there and bend the dash back you can use that spot i used in my tas (that makes the last dash faster).
the dash to sj seems slow. I would try to find out how much in place turning you can afford before its slower than just doing a normal jump to the upgrade.
also, we should name the bunny hop things a dash dash. that was when someone says "do a dash", they could be refering to any of like 6 different kinds of jumps.
and SJ was slow lol, ptorflaxendrosis was just testing how to do the dash it's self and how to get into the door. this method seems kinda slow but I don't think he turned around as fast as you can.
once the full game TAS gets to this point,
you know in like five million years,
hours of testing will go into this dash and the dash into SJ, unlike the 20-30minutes ptorflaxendrosis put in.
oh hey for some reason I never posted about this weird thing that happened to me in my TAS of the first room, I was somehow able to jump and get about half the height of a normal just and afaik its not any faster but it could be used to do some rooms faster by changing your view while in mid air and then locking onto something to dash off of it faster because you land sooner.
I'll re-post this video because its not on this page and people here are lazy, and going to another page it hard work :P
Just kinda watch the jump after the cut scene of the second set of targets lighting up it may be hard to see at full speed
Yeah I've done this before. It's by hitting B twice really quick...
You sure?? I only pressed B once and if a save state on every frame then reload each state holding nothing I sometimes jump lower and sometimes jump the full height

Maybe not. I know the same or very similar effect can be achieved by doing that though. God I'm so excited for this run you don't even know dude
I'm not gonna lie, just go through the game once really quickly. Don't debate every room, you'll find different solutions as you go I'm sure, but by the time you're done the run, the best route & tricks and shit will be figured out for your next.
