There's no evidence to suggest Ridley got infected BEFORE being frozen in that room. It seems like a safer assumption that Ridley had been there before Samus' suit got surgically removed and stored at BSL.

I find it very unlikely that he was infected before, as, if the pirates would have raided SR388, I guess that would be mentioned anywhere.
Probably they had a clone, from the DNA left by him when he attacked Norion, for example

i never understood what the heck ridley was doing on BSL...

on-topic, i think ridley is the ultimate villain of the series, man, if samus dies, ridley will still be still kicking some other power suit gal ass...

Ridley was on BSL frozen for scientific research. Did you not notice that the BSL ship was a huge research station?

Man, she needs a comeback. Maybe Samus didn't destroy the back up memory generator for her, and even when Tourian blewed up, the back up memory generator was enclosed in one of those "little black boxes" that airplanes have. Then the few surviving Metroids built her back up out of band-aids and bubble gum.

On the topic of Ridley ACTUALLY staying dead...no, I doubt it. The Space Pirates seem tenacious enough to rebuild entire planets and probably are paranoid enough to stockpile Metroids and radioactive substances out in distant corners of the galaxy just in case Samus kills everyone they've ever met. They're sure to rebuild Ridley once, twice, eh, eight times, before giving up, especially if the Federation had the cajones to stick him in a freezer anyway.

Takes place AFTER Super Metroid. "Based on" implies that it's using the same story. Other M is a completely different game, it just has some familiar scenes from the past.

Huh? As far as I can tell Mario and Peach should be like...60 at the oldest if you take their earliest games, estimate their probable age, and count up the years in real time. Certainly not dead from old age. Samus even younger than that. Am I missing something here? Besides, it's not like video games (or tv for that matter) takes real time into consideration. They can have their games take place at any point in time they feel. :^/

Also playerman, you can shoot Ridley in the face point blank using plasma energy that can pierce solid objects, or extremely potent explosive ammunition, and it just drains his meter, not even putting a scratch or burn on him. I think he can survive a fall from a couple thousand feet.

You've thought about it too much apparently. Of course a fall will crush him! Missiles and Plasma/Ice just aren't effective against him.

Well, it would certainly seem like Ridley finally died, seeing as how many times he's been blowed up, you'd think he would just give up. And the fact that when last we killed him, in Super Metroid, he kind of exploded and then fell in acid. But then again, he was in frozen storage in Fusion, so I think ultimately Ridley won't die until the last Metroid game, if ever there will be one (we hope not.)

I'd imagine his voice to have a scratchy-screechy core with a deep-ish gristle surround that, possibly with a vibration more like the core than the 'meat' as an aftereffect. As long as they don't animu it by having a normal voice and monster voice played over each other (especially if and when he screams/screeches; that's when the it's-two-different-voices become most apparent (well, actually, when it switches from normal scream to monster scream; CC-FFVII- did it better than many I've heard)).
