Yeah, that one kicks serious ass. Having six supers to use on Imago is just plain awesome.

EDIT: And 10 for Ridley.  :D
how can ya have that much then?
Go kill kraid w/o power grip, use the early super in crateria (2), then grab the two tanks in norfair (6) then grab Imago's (8 ) and the one past the violas (10).

Oops. I meant 10 for Ridley.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
I usually have 12 at Ridley. Although it only takes 10 to do him in.

So the only thing you need the ice water for is the Metroids? That sucks. They should let you kill thawed out Metroids or at least give missiles the freeze ability (not an upgrade, they should come with it).

EDIT: Crap, dude, I keep posting before I read the second pages! *sigh*
Well, yeah, but on a 15% run, it isn't wise to get 10, is it? I mean, maybe one energy tank and the Screw Attack and you're good to go. Nearly invincible. Speed Booster if you're doing a speed run.

You'd have to go get the early sm in Brinstar for that, right? I don't like to go back up to brinstar, then back down again to ridley. I prefer to just get that one heading to tourian.

And Jagger, no, we want ice beam, not missiles. The problem with ice missiles is that missiles are so powerful, for the ice to be useful they have to freeze instead of kill. With the beam, the way ZM does it, it freezes a hit before the kill limit is reached (and sometimes earlier). Therefore, the ice beam is a step up in power, where an ice missile would be a step down(like the super metroid ice beam). You can see the effect in Sess's commentary. Finally, I don't want to waste missiles to freeze!

You just want to cut percent down. Why not just start the beam off as icy?

Nope, I don't pick that one up until Tourian either. There's another one you can get in there somewhere, although I couldn't tell you which one off the top of my head.

You're right, there are three in Ridley. The last one is the one in the spiraling bomb blocks, right before to the viola room. That means 12 for Ridley. I guess I was confused by my 100% hard, where I only had 6 (duh).

By the way, can you hurt Ridley when he is shooting the fireballs on the platform at the beginning? I shot off a few (they hit him) but he didn't change color or nothin', and it seemed like it took more supers to kill him.

EDIT: Hey Toozin, you're almost at 1000 posts! I think this merits a party, or at least a virtual get-together.

I don't know why you couldn't hit him, but maybe you did and he just didn't change color. He only has five or six color schemes, right? Or maybe you hit a fireball in his mouth or something.
