The Speed boost would have to be it since the Screw attack is in the rest of Norfair.

There is no way through the hive.  The only way to get past it would be to get some of those parasites to eat it, and since there are no parasites in that room let alone Norfair (and you can't transport parasites from room to room), there is no way past it.

Trust me.  I'ts been looked into and researched quite fully.

Agent Graves is what I get. Anyways, can't you...not get the Speed Booster without the Ice Beam? Or is there some weird trick to do that?

Erm... the Ice Beam has nothing to do with the Speed Booster (beating Kraid, remember?). Maybe you're confused because you have to go get the Power Grip to beat Kraid the "normal" way. But it's not neccesary. So yes, you can have the speed booster by that point.

Ah ok. It seems like there's always a way to do everything in this game. Except skip the Power Grip. Which admitidly I don't mind. But for people who want the lowest percent possible then I guess I can see why you want to skip it.

As for speedboosting and shinesparking; the Hive is as solid as a wall. You're not able to get past it using speed booster tricks.

Well although it cant be skipped, last night I managed a Speed Booster and Super Missiles before Power Grip break. I'm please with that :P
