Hi, I'm new here, but I have been visiting as a guest for some time & then I thought "To heck with this" and signed up.

Hello

I'm new to this Forum and wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Laney (in real Aleksandar Markovic) and I live in Germany, so please don't be too hard with it. I started with Super Metroid and my first run was 71 % at 5:40 (I don't know the exact time, but I always finished the game at 71 % after I decidet to make a speed run). Then I made it 100 % at 1:50 , I felt good with this , because it was under two hours ^^'.
After playing Super Metroid hundred times Metroid Fusion came out, but I had no Gamecube, so I played it first of all with a emulator (and I don't want to show you my time here, because emulated times aren't legit), but I bought Metroid Fusion yesterday and I hope I'll have fun with it and my Metroid Prime on gamecube.
Well then I also started playing Metroid Zero on emulator, and finished it.
And now, just 3 days ago I got my gamecube sent from eBay and started playing Metroid Prime. Well, I saw several Videos of Metroid Prime on this site with sequence breaking etc, so my first Metroid Prime game started with getting the Space Jump First^^'.
So, now I'm at the Fregatte without Gravity Suit and Spider Ball, because of a mistake I made and I can't get out.

Well back to me:
I'm 15 years old and I make lots of music (In fact music is my life).
I'm very interessted in learning English (some people said my english's good but I don't believe them, that's just a conspiracy  ), as already said in music and also in the Metroid series and the game Freelancer (anyone know's this?) and in Photoshop (my Avatare was made by me).

So I don't want to talk too much, have a nice day^^
Cool.  Actually, being German shouldn't hurt at all, because the admin is constantly having SPONTANEOUS DISCUSSIONS IN GERMAN!  Also, your name sounds Russian.  And your English is very good, you type better than most native speakers when they get on the net.

Yeah, my blood and my name are croatian, so it's not very surprising, if it sounds russian, but I was born in Germany and all my english was learned in school and watching Family Guy episodes on english, reading english Mangas, playing Freelancer on english, watch CSI on english etc.
So, I like the english language^^

Lol. Anyways, welcome to the forum. And don't worry, your English is pretty good.
OK i was expecting something like this, but all other boards iv been on have an entire section for intros rather than just a thread so i wasnt sure where i was looking, so sorry for useless hello thread  :?

anyway as yoshi348 only closed rather than deleted my topic i wont bother putting all that stuff here as you can see my metroid acheivments there in multiple metroids section (like anyones interested  Rolling Eyes )

Erm...Hello  Laughing

Heh.
Hello all fellow Metroid fans :D

I've been following your site for months now, and I finally decided to join. There have been moments where i have wanted to place my imput somewhere, but then was unable to. That is the biggest factor in my decision, and the fact that you guys have a better understanding of the games than other places I've looked into.

I have known about the series since a little after Super came out, and ever since I've been hooked. I thought that I knew quite a bit about the game, and that the only thing i could do was slowly chip away at my times and percentages while continuing to enjoy the game.

How wrong you guys proved me :D

Some of the things you are able to pull off are incredible, and many are things that I would never have thought of. Ever since then, the series has become much more fun, and that much more challenging.

Hopefully, I can add to the expanding knowledge on the series that you guys have found so far, but I know that it's very unlikely that I'll become as good as most of you.

But, that won't stop me from trying  :)
Well, in your sig, all your times beat mine! The only games that I speed run are any% fusion, and 100% ZM. Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Yeah, dude, your English is just fine.  I thought it was your first language until you got to the above part.

Heh, on days when I've felt like getting massively flamed I've considered taking my first-year Spanish onto the Spanish board on Gamefaqs and just see what happens.  I've never actually done it, but I read the posts on that board habitually and see what I can pick out.  Languages are fun!  Wiggle  Laughing
HI! i consider my self an ok metroid gamer.i am currently playing metroid Zero mission. in it, i can do the wall jump and the bomb jump and can sequence break to an extent.  nice to find this site!! :D  :)  :D  :D
lol no way
You spelled lemon wrong in your sig. Welcome to the boards.

Ah, but how do you know that?  He might have bred some sort of hybrid super-fruit, and bent it to his own twisted saying-based will.

But then he might have just spelt lemon wrong.

Funny old world, eh?

"it can however German"

WTF.

Still, the speed of that babelfish has gotta be some kind of record.

It's never a good idea to use babelfish unless you want to get something totally wrong. It should be translated to something like "He can speak german, though".
Quote from njahnke:
kann er aber deutsch ;P

Nice, but "Er kann aber deutsch" would be a bit better.

I meant the expression as one ask, therefore I had this word order use her am a little unclear without question marks, but I am experienced with German enough, in order to recognize whether this word order cannot carry alone this asking stress obviously.

Stop that!  :P

I think we should make a rule where Nate has to translate it when he speaks in other languages.  I'm getting tired of this computer-spawned nonsense.  I mean,

"I meant the expression as one ask"

WTF.  Please explain, Nate.
I'm going to learn German for my Freshman year, which starts next monday, so Nate can stop speaking German for until I'm experienced enough to translate.

Edit: Woah, I ranked up sooner than I expected.
rotfl. babel fish rocks. and i was saying to him that the reason i used that word order was because it's the question word order, like i was asking a question instead of making a statement ("but does he speak german?" rather than "but he does speak german!") not sure if that clears it up any.

Leider ist der Satz so nicht als Frage zu erkennen, und auch mit Fragezeichen ziemlich komisch zu verstehen. Besser wäre da etwas wie "Vielleicht kann er auch deutsch?"

Edit (for anyone who can't speak german): I just told him that his sentence "kann er aber deutsch" can hardly be recongnized as a question, even with a question mark. In that case it would be better to say "Vielleicht kann er auch deutsch?", which is something like "Maybe he does speak german?"

Unfortunately the sentence is like that not to be recognized as question to understand and also with question marks rather amusingly.  Better there would something be as "perhaps can he also German?"

Well, at least you can get the gist of it...
lol no way
HAHAHAHA! I love Babelfish... it's fun to translate something from, say German (since we're talking about it) to English, then back to German, then back to English, and so on. It gets more and more garbled as you go, and sometimes is like 100% differant than the original.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Good to see I'm not the only one that can massively derail threads.
