I wouldn't go that far but ye I enjoyed the show up until twilight turned into a unicorn/Pegasus. I think that was the last season I watched so it's been yeaaars. Now I'm more like, idk, Gravity Falls, Rick and Morty, Bob's burgers and still playing way too many video games (Pokemon, overwatch, and thank God Metroid).

I mean I got a few friends who watch it and say it's not really worth it after that point, so I consider it the soft finale of the show. Kinda like how the Spongebob movie is the true ending of SpongeBob.

Better than Simpsons imo. No child torture for shits and giggles and the family is flawed but still functional? Yes pls. I feel like, if I was a parent, I'd be very Bob-esque.

tbh i haven't really watched the simpsons. i saw plenty of random episodes when i was a kid, but i don't feel like i really get the show. i've been meaning to just marathon it sometime, at least the first 8 seasons

it's a show that probably dated itself, because nobody was really doing all those postmodern callbacks and references to pop culture until the simpsons came along

whereas now I think that sort of thing is actually wildly overdone for cheap laughs
