I started reading through the thread, noticed the derail, rerail, and subsequent derail, and just decided like Brother Maynard to "skip a bit brother."  I am a year out of college.  Metroid was one of the first three games my parents got for me when I got the NES.  I have been hooked ever since.  I bought a used gamecube simply to play Prime.  I look forward to Echoes.  My goal in life is to be a writer of fiction: books, movies, etc.  Right after I finished Zero Mission, the idea of the Metroid story as a movie entered my mind.  A few days later I saw an article about John Woo optioning the story.  I immediately started writing, what I consider at least, to be a Metroid movie script.  I am about 70 pages into it.  I think the Metroid story has great potential for a movie.  It also has the potential to be disasterous.  I had not done much with sequence breaking or speed runs before I saw this site.  I am still much a novice in that area, but I am greatly impressed by the skill of the breakers on this site.

Unless I have to type really fast (like in an online game or something), I always type with capitals.  It just doesn't feel right any other way.

the secret is that i'm actually typing 'normally' and that is being transformed (sometimes in my head, and sometimes not) into the all-lowercase 'style' you see.

I'm Goemon - I've been playing Metroid games since I recieved MII: RoS as a birthday gift right after it came out. Since then, I've played the original Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, and just bought a Gamecube to play Metroid Prime. I'm attempting some speed runs of MZM currently. I've been lurking here for a while, and just decided that it looks like a good community to join. You might find people named Goemon at other boards... they're probably me as well.

My favorite Metroid games are Metroid - Zero Mission, Metroid Prime, Super Metroid, and Metroid Fusion.

I cannot wait for Metroid Prime 2 - Echoes.  :D
