What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
I have, and it's really underwhelming.  Not to mention awkward.  I mean, jumping is done by double tapping the screen.  Let's just say that's going to take a while to get used to.

The game modes were pretty poor, too.  Not to mention the very fact that the Power Beam has ammo bothers me to no end.

The Power Beam has ammo? Are you serious? It seems to me like Nintendo is making Hunters more of a generic FPS than a Metroid game. Now I'm seriously thinking about not buying it. But I probably will anyway.
Come on, how could it NOT be made a generic FPS? It started with it being multiplayer-based. Then they ditched the lock-on. All that remains is a hand-held copy of Quake, except with a few "cool" items.

Personally, I think it might be easier to use a non-touch screen control set-up when playing... Sure, against hardcore players you'd lose, but it seems just a bit more comfortable to me.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Power Beam... with ammo.  Power Beam... with ammo.  The concepts are not coming together.  Anyone got some superglue or a Metroid or something?

Technically it never runs out, but once you get down to no ammo, the rate of fire slows way down.

That's such a messed-up system. Who thinks up these things? But I guess it's better than it running on only ammo, period.
Too many fangirls to count
i think it pwns. i had the controls on default and pressd l to jump, stylus to aim, and control pad to move
i, for one, really liked it ... i thought it was very smooth and well put together (especially the dual screen aspect). i look forward to pwning all of you at the first metroid 2002 gathering.
Bah. I'm just lucky the DS comes out on my birthday.
I tried playing it a few days ago (Out looking for the Echeos Strategy Guide 8)) but I couldn't figure out how to even FIRE the beam... Embarassed

Edit: Man, I need to update my sig... (Still has my original Prime one)

I still haven't tried it, but I don't think it will be as hard to control as I thought it would be. I hope the controls are smooth, like Nate says.

That was....random and...yeah. I live too far away from anyplace where I can try that...but I would love to. POWER BEAM AMMO!?!? OMG NO! Who made this game!??!!??
It would be good to see who is the best player amongst us all, but there is the matter of everyone having access to wireless broadband to play.
lol no way
I played it for a bit today, and it seems... ok. Eh. We'll see.
I now own it, and I think it's pretty cool. The thumb nubbin is definately better than the stylus for this game, IMO. As far as the Power Beam Having Ammo Dilemma, I don't have much of a problem with it, by which I mean I ignore the fact entirely and have no problems.
The controls don't take to much time at all to get used to when you use the thumbstrap to aim. It is so much easier, it's like using a mouse. I like it a lot, if you've only tried it with the Stylus you should give it a go with the Thumb-Strap.
I've been playing it since 11/22, and i think it is great!  The controls are really good and the touchpad look thing works great.  I don't really care about the fact that the power beam has ammo, because I only run out in regulator mode against the green samus, and that's part of the challenge.  I think the jumping works a lot better than it sounds.  I can't wait for the real version to come out.  I hope it has a story mode like the other primes
I have a DS and the demo with it of course. I actually like the different control scheme. I thought it had some interesting features and was a pretty good demo. The short cut scenes continue to amaze me. Not to mention it has multiplayer on the demo, which I have yet to try out.

The only things I didn't like is the power beam "ammo" like GreenMamba said, and the way the boost ball works. Double tapping a direction in morph ball activates the boost, and this can be annoying sometimes if you hit it twice on accident.

Other than those things I really enjoyed it. :)
If i may tell you my oppinion

The ammo thing  will surely not be in the Real version this is just a  training room version put up to show how it will look... and the controlit surely wont be nothing alike
Like it says... its a traning mission that samus is going throught for what is to come.... nothing to do with  metroid prime hunter

Personnaly I really like the control.... i prefert with the  stylus  thought not the thumb things... i jsut wish i had friend to play with :(....

I agree. I don't think the demo will be too much like the actual game. I think the game is going to mostly a single payer game, but it will have a good multiplayer (unlike Echoes) as well. And there won't be holograms in the real game. At least, I hope not.

Ready and willing.
Wheeee, generic FPS. Joy.  Rolling Eyes  Fusion's looking to get dethroned... there didn't really seem to be any indication that the full game would be different in that respect, IMHO.

That control method works. It's still pretty confusing that you have to figure that out, tho.
I actually liked it a lot.

The power beam ammo isn't a huge issue, as there are refills everywhere. The stylus controls are good. Switching from beams to missiles and the boost ball are my only slight concerns.

And the graphics are suprisingly smooth as well.

I'm definately looking forward to this game. I just love the feeling of playing a FPS with the stylus for aim...
Anyone else irritated by the lack of a charge beam?
