and the fall damage is so small it's pretty much worthless.

I just fell hundreds of feet and i took 3 damage WOE IS ME.

What did surprise me, however, was weapon splashback.  Be careful where you shoot your missiles (and assorted secondary weapons)

The game controls far more like a PC FPS, which makes me smile from ear to ear.

Metroid universe or not, this is exactly what i've been wanting on a handheld.

(Also: For those who want deathmatch against bots.

Go to "multicart multiplayer" and just add in 3 bots, there you go.)
I got the last copy at my local EB Games. So far, Im enjoying it. Cant wait till Im up to the point where I can play Multiplayer, but for now, Im all single player mode.

There aren't too many places where you can actually fall far enough to take fall damage.

And when you do, its only like 2 damage...its not enough to really mess you up but, its the principle of the thing.

Forget what I said about it being easy. The room with the orange weapon is kicking my ass hardcore. (Dammit, Samus, why can't you learn to stop drop and roll!) Also, there's a lot more confusing maps now. Still a bit linear, but there's definitely exploration going on. The downside is that the key hunting is actual hunting now, so if the keys drove you nuts in Echoes... well, you're going to get driven nuts again. There's also invisible scan points... only visible with the scan visor. Not switch scans, but for filling up your logbook... erg.
i havent gotten my copy yet, i couldnt go out on monday (dad came home late) or tuesday (couldnt drive more than 5 miles without going back due to the insanely icy roads), but my dad is going to stop at best buy on the way home and see if he can pick me up a copy, from what you guys are saying its looking pretty good, exept for the key hunting.... Evil or Very Mad

It's weird though: There was this one time that I fell off of the starting platform on the ice planet (Dang, now we need to remember more names) and managed to take about THIRTY damage. It only happened once or twice, but it still is a pain.

Anyway, in a minute or two I will be finding out more about the game's surprises.
Oh that all seems quite interesting to me. I can't wait any longer for the game, I want it now and here. :(
But I'l get it on friday...
My Nick in Wifigames will be TDF|MD
I'm looking forward to battle against the M2K2-leader. (If there will be one)

No, there are multiple control configurations.

SAL, I've deleted your post.  Stuff like that should only go in the spoiler topic.

Just a word of warning- Dont get crushed in morph ball form. if you get squished by something i.e. the pistons in the Piston Cave on the lava world, you will die instantly (unlike in MP 1+2 where you just took damage)

Ditto on terminal falls... they are quite terminal.

And I almost failed an escape for once... only about 30 seconds left on about a 9 minute one.

And what really sucks is that, if this pattern holds, you fight the same two bosses FOUR TIMES each. I mean sure, they get slightly different attacks, but whoopee. Very lame. And one of them hands out energies like candy.

has anyone encountered any objects that you need to destroy with morph ball bombs? other than using th em to activate some doors in morph ball tunnels, I havent really found a use for them, they're weak as a weapon.

I havent bothered to see what happens if you run out of time on an escape- Obviously the planet doesnt blow up, or you wouldn't be able to come back to the planet later. So do you just die or something?

Not yet... I would assume if there were any, I would have seen some by now.
Well, at least bomb jumps can speed things up a bit. Like in instances where you'd rather not climb all the way up the regular way, you can DBJ.
If anyone's been through the crazy magma drop, bombing is highly necessary.  Also, Trace, who by the way is AWESOME, well he got taken out by bombs last night in the nick of time.  But so far I havent seen anything that can *only* be bombed.  Doesn't matter though - every Metroid game makes up for its shortcomings in other ways, and this one is no exception.

The orange doors look too much like red doors. :(
not to mention if you get stuck fighting certain hunters in small rooms *coughspirecough* then they will chip off of your health really reallyy fast, and sometimes the battles can get quite monotonous.
I've had it since the day it came out and its sweet. The graphics aren't as nice as MK:DD and its somewhat dark but nothing too terrible.

I do have one serious issue with this game, its killing my hands. If I play for more than 30 minutes I feel like I have old man hands. Anyone else having this problem?
your hands just need to get used to it (it's not something they're normally asked to do). i've been able to play for longer and longer without resting.
Anywhere, everywhere
I just got Hunters today! :D  I beat the first level without dying and have done good so far against the bots in Multiplayer. From what I've heard though, the single player will get harder so I'm  okay. See you guys on multi!!

You have good luck.. :( My game will come on monday.
Are the Sequenzes really as good as they look like on ign's video-review?
I got it wednesday, and it takes some getting used to. I already see the possibilities for a hunters section on the site. I was fooling around in the first room of the lava world, and I found out you can climb almost any slightly-slanted wall. I was able to climb up the wall near the lavafall and went half way along the room. No secret worlds yet though.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.

I was stuck for the longest time because I thought an orange door was a red door.
