I think "boss clipping into wall and becoming practically invincible" counts as a glitch. Although it might not be repeatable.
the sheegoth one?

Yeah, the sheegoth one.
In the middle of my 28% hard run here. And damn is it hard! Anyway. You know the first elite you encounter, where three ice troopers come after you've killed him? Weeell, there are two pump-thingy machines on each side of where you fight the elite. And... one of his plasma mortar thingies got stuck in one of the machines. I'm in the middle of trying to survive the ice troopers, and that plasma thing just sits there and glows.

I SO wish I could tape this...

[edit]
I thought I noticed this while fighting Omega in the past but I couldn't get another chance to look... The plasma rounds are tagged with a red scan point!
[/edit]

[edit2]
Note to self: Never jump into plasma mortars. I might as well reset now...

Are you sure that it wasn't an Orange scan but looked red because of the red on the Plasma Troopers?  Who cares.  I don't know why I'm even asking.  There's a lot of those that you don't need but they're still "scannable".

Note to self:  Wow, that was an awesome word.  Mr. Green
I'm confident the plasma artillery round had a red scan point, yes. I'm also confident that the rounds have a weird design... Apparently, the "front" half is lava-red and glowing, and the back half is white/gray... Pokéball-ish. I'm ALSO confident that they explode if you touch them. x.x

[edit] Ohyeah, I just remembered another glitch I encountered a while ago. In research lab Hydra, after having triggered the metroids in there.. I was trying to go up the elevator after having released one of the metroids in the tanks. Sadly, the metroid decided to charge at me while the elevator was going up. It got stuck between the edge of the elevator and the platform above, leaving that lovely invisible barrier in front of the elevator intact since it got stuck trying to move upwards. Down drops a shadow pirate and tries to slash at me, but that barrier prevents him. The metroid goes "squee, squee, squee" as it repteatedly tries to attack me. And I just stand there... like... "wtf?"

Minor, but kinda funny.[/edit]
i encouterd this weird glitch:

I was fighting Omega pirate,he was at one of the phazon pools te recharge,i locked on him,i dont fire super missiles, but i fire with plasme beam,he was at 1/2 of his health,i fire 1 uncharged plasma beam shot, and he dies  Shocked

weird glitch huh,

some other glitch:

sometimes when i am DBJ for fun(cant master the TBJ,i keep floating in air,i cant moves, but if i boost,i fall to the ground, and the game continues like usual
I Found a water raising glitch in Phendrana Drifts in the area before thardus. I shot the door in the lower area so the light around it went out but i didnt let it open. I raised the water level and went back to the door. It opened but the lock was still on it so I couldn't leave the room through that door. The water also raised in the next room Which was very strange.
Another odd one. I'm in the middle of the lower mines here, trying my <30% Hard run. I'm in that room where you disable the forcefield to release two metroids onto two patrolling space pirates on the floor below you. One of the metroids took care of one pirate, the other, for some reason, pushed the pirate up against a wall, and now he's just floating there... The pirate keeps trying to slash at the metroid, missing, then running in the other direction - straight into the wall. They're stuck there!

Another thing, you know the shaft with the vertical spider rail and the two rotating metal things that hurt so much? If you lay bombs on top of them the bombs will go rotating around the room with them.

[edit]
HAH! Now I'm proud. I found something I've never heard about before. Omega Pirate's plasma artillery rounds DO have the same type of scan point as the Elite ones (but orange I think(?)), BUT! They're scannable! Scanning them will show some black and white images of what looks like a parasite and an artifact-looking symbol, and the text "This is an Elite Space Pirate" followed by "Elite Space Pirate description 3"
[/edit]

[edit2] Ever try climbing to the top of the Observatory and shooting at the ceiling? That's one messed up layer effect... [/edit2]
Samus Lauren
Shocked Woah... Maybe they were gonna have it be a scan, but then changed their minds and kinda just left it as digital garbage or somthing...
fascinating. sounds like an excuse to play prime. your name will go on the 'other' page for this, rox.

Woohoo!
*happydance*

[edit]
I love editing. Now, the symbol on one of the scan pics closely resembles the symbol on the wall on image 62, image gallery 3. Just so you know.
[/edit]
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Not to spoil anyone's fun here, but I've heard of the scan glitch before. Granted, I couldn't even begin to tell you who on gamefaqs brought it up, so crediting Rox is probably the best option.
Yup. I brought it up HERE. ^_^

On another tiny note, the thing where you can see Samus' arm cannon change in a cutscene works on Prime's introduction scene as well. In the middle of trying to kill him here... NOT an easy task without energy tanks on Hard. >.<

[edit]
Whee... When fighting Prime's first form, when he does the tractor beam trick, have you ever tried boost-balling in behind him and pressed yourself against the corner of the room? Neat-o rubberband effect. You'll get flinged all the way across the room, sometimes bouncing off walls, and the camera will have trouble knowing which way you're going.

I just found this awesomne glitch where you can make hunter metroid really big by shooting them with the power beam rapidly.  They grow 2-3 time the original size.

Oh, I found this other glitch! If you shoot a beam pirate with the wrong weapon, it bounces right off!!!
Was that sarcasum Yoshi?  Evil or Very Mad

I believe Yoshi's point is that making a metroid grow huge is an intended part of the game, and hence not a glitch at all.

In case your question was not rhetorical, yes he was being sarcastic.
Okay, okay.  Give me a break.  There's just some things that I don't notice and they just slip out and I discover them for the first time.  Embarassed

Sorry about that, I wasn't trying to be mean. The growing metroid thing is pretty weird, and I can easily see why you might think it's a glitch.
But I mean... It was SOOO huge... I mean SOOO VERY VERY huge and I was just so amazed at its growth spurt... Okay, I'll back off now.  Wink

Shocked That sounds so very, very wrong.

Seriously, though, I've heard of the huge metroid trick before, but I think I'll actually have to try it, it sounds interesting.
I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but I have two videos of me rolling the fission Metroids out of the main room in the Impact Crater and causing them to disappear and prevent you from moving on.  If you want, I can show it to you/explain how to do it (especially since I just thought of a way to get around the problem).
Please do!
I've heard of that...

You get the Metroid to notcie you, and go to the door you came in through.  Open it, go into morph ball, and lay in the little "groove" of the door.  Let the metroid latch on, lay a bomb, and slam the stick towards the room with Lumigeks just before the bomb explodes.  Pretty easy to do.  The metroid will float to the top of the other room, even try to latch onto you, but will never go past the door.  Just shoot at the other metroid to get his attention, and repeat the trick for a Phazon Core w/out Metroids.  Very useful when I was looking for a no sj solution to that room...
